Granted, I'm not from CA, but the only candidate I remember aside from Arnold was Mary Carey, who of course made headlines because she was a porn star. Do I think highly of her? No. But I remember her name. Name recognition counts. Who was it that said, "The only bad press is no press." For many, why his name is familiar will fade faster than the fact that his name is familiar. Part of me wonders if part of the reason he's keeping himself out there is for the name recognition.

Well, I do agree to some point.. no press is bad press and all. But where as you DO remember that Mary Carey was in the CA gubernatorial race, and that she was a porn star.. do you honestly remember anything else about her? You have already said you do not think highly of her.. so how is that good? Would you hire her for anything other than something Porn related??

In IW's case.. he has dug a deep hole for his slef by trying to place blame elsewhere. It IS his fault he used a slur, it IS his fault he was in hot water, it IS his fault other cast members were upset and didn't want to have to deal with him. Most of all it IS his fault that he was fired. As I have said before in this thread (and it is sad that it has become all about him and taken away what is good left in the show) this is not the first time he has had issues with cast members. Once I may be able to forgive and maybe forget.. more than that, there is a problem.

If I were him, I would want my name out there, but not attached to something like this.. not to mention attached to his stupidity in dealing with the end result. I'd have more respect for him if he just said, "Hey I screwd up I AM sorry, I'd like to move on and prove I'm not that person." AND shut his mouth after it.

    In the end IW:

You got FIRED, you screwed up, you can't show self control... you need to look to yourself first and address the issues you have.. not anyone elses.

What gets me about his latest outburst is that it is such a high-jacking of racism. Racism is real, it does happen.

But come on, this show is helmed by a black woman. There are at least two other regular black characters and a asian character. This made it so that race WASN'T an issue in casting. They were characters. Bailey isn't a black woman, she is a kick ass resident.

To claim in this instance that race was the issue and not character is a travesty.

And it is just sad, if he had truly learned something from this, he would have kept his mouth shut, and gone on his way. Let things die down and there was a outside chance he could have returned. His character didn't die, he left. Although at this point he could have gotten in a car crash after the non-wedding and we can cheerfully start the season off that way. *sigh*

I hope Larry doesn't pull his questions and points out how Mr. Washington's story changes day by day.

You echoe my sentiments exactly AsIs.Wonder how much information Larry King will have about the details, facts regarding IW firing? If Larry does not know much about the whole incident and what followed he will not be equiped with the knowledge to ask tough questions.
I tend to think that there must have been more going on behind the scenes between IW ,his fellow cast members and Grey's crew on a continuing basis that merited his firing.

I saw a clip of the interview this morning. Nice to see IW is practicing his acting still. That scene where he had to choke up and have a difficult time speaking because of his emotions - perfectly done! He really broke a leg on that performance, that's all I can say.

BTW - of course no one was watching LKL, everyone was glued to the Rocket pitching his heart out, once again, on his way to 350! Way to go, Roger!

Actually I believe him and after last nights interview, a whole lot of people are supporting him. I believe his account of what happened and I never cared for the character of Preston Burke but I dont believe Isaiah should've been fired. He never referred to T.R. as an F word. People who are fans of the other actors will automatically defend him. No one should use certain words in any context I agree but how the media totally changed this story around to villafy him and blow it out of proportion was wrong as well. Its funny how Isaiah's haters act like they have never used that word or any b ad word in any context every in their life. If we are gonna villafy people for using words like that no matter the context then we need to villafy everyone who's even used a swear word in their entire life because there are alot of words that people use everyday and think are know big deal that does offend people.

What alot of people thought was acting was T.R.'s reactions when he was on Ellen a while ago talking about the incident. There are two sides to every story.I will not be watching this show again.

Isaiah Washington: "I Have to Clear the Air" About What Really Happened - Today's News: My Take | TVGuide.com

Appearing Monday night on Larry King Live, Isaiah Washington served up what many of us have been clamoring for: a blow-by-blow account of exactly what transpired on the Grey's Anatomy set last Oct. 9. In Washington's version, T.R. Knight was nowhere near the line of fire; rather, the conflict was focused on a different cast member. "Although I love Patrick Dempsey, I have to clear the air and tell what happened," Washington said to Larry King, launching into his version of those events.

Prior to Oct. 9, while filming the "Where the Boys Are"/fishing episode, Washington grew concerned that when Dempsey extended a shoot day, it would appear that the show's two "titans" were taking advantage of crew members. Washington, however, didnít vent his frustration at the time ó "[and] I was kicking myself for it."

Come Oct. 9, Dempsey was again late to the set. "I'm mad," Washington recalls. "[But] I didnít say anything [the previous time], so what am I going to say now?" After denying that he was even late, Dempsey said he needed to wait for Ellen Pompeo, who was to feed the actors lines from off camera. "[Patrick] said, 'I need Ellen.' I said, 'Well, I donít need Ellen. I can act.'" That perceived slight ratcheted the tension to a new and different level. "He became unhinged," Washington says of Dempsey. "[We were] face-to-face, spittle-to-spittle. I was like, 'Why am I being berated to this point in front of our crew?' I pushed him out of my face and it took off from there."

Enter the F-word. "I said several bad words," Isaiah admits. "I said, 'There's no way you're going to treat me like a 'B-word,' a 'P-word' or 'the F-word.' You can't treat me that way in front of our crew."

Washington maintained the F-word was "never, never, never" aimed at T.R. Knight, and said that his definition of the word at the time was "someone who is weak, not deserving of respect." Tabloid reports that the fracas was centered on Knight and his sexuality "couldnít be further from the truth," says Washington.

Why, then, did Knight come out of the closet and subsequently offer a different version of events on Ellen? "That's the $5 million question," Washington told King. "He misrepresented himself." (Knight and Dempsey, who are allegedly under a gag order from ABC, had no comment for Larry King Live.)

Toward the end of the Q&A, Washington seemed to get emotional when asked which cast mates have lent their support, saying that he had received "a wonderful e-mail from Sandra Oh," for example. But he doesn't expect more public support from his peers "because of where they are. Disney is paying their bills, and you donít mess with the Mouse. Everyone did what they had to do."

And of the person who actually leaked what may have been an inaccurate account of the Oct. 9 to-do to the tabloids, Washington said this: "I really hope that person got paid, man. That was the stroke of death for me."
