| I quite liked it. Thank god they didn't put in a laugh track. I think the success of this show hinges on a strong, strange lead, and this guy managed it. I still might prefer the British version (and why, if they're doing the same plots and the same dialogue, didn't they just buy the rights to the UK show and give us that?) but I laughed out loud several times.

| Hmmm..... I personally thought it was kind of stupid. I did laugh at the jello though. I have a wierd sense of humor.

| Ok, I think I've finally found one of the worst tv premier shows ever. I just finished watching (cringing, actually) The Office and I cannot recall ever seeing a worse show. Not funny. Really REALLY bad acting. Really REALLY trying too hard and failing. Really REALLY bad timing in joke (loosely used term here) setup and execution. I really don't know what else to say about it. It really is the worst show I've seen in a long time. Words fail me. :phhht

It was not bad though I preferred the British version. I would probably watch it again. I thought the guy who played Jim was quite good. It seemed to me like a show that would be more fitting on cable though. Seemed odd for it to be on NBC. Hopefully NBC will give it a chance though and we'll see how it fares when it finds its own feet.

| It seems like this is a love-it or hate-it show. I only saw half of it, but I really liked it and I'll most likely watch it next time. (I've seen the original version and I didn't like it). |

| Post-It Note to self: Re-watch DVD of original The Office tomorrow in order to erase memories of the horrid American version from mind. |

I didn't laugh once. I don't care to watched humor that's been "tweaked" for so-called American tastes; I got the British version better than this sad, pale, need-to-shake-the-toner-a-bit photocopy. It's not that I don't like Steve Carell; in fact, I've been a fan of much of his previous work. But Ricky Gervais is just too tough an act to follow. I'm not sure I care enough to give it another chance, either; I'd rather just watch re-runs of the original. Thank God for BBCAmerica.

| "One word. Two syllables: demarcation" ![]() I didn't think it was the funniest thing I've ever seen, but I have to admit that it did make me laugh. I'm a fan of the British version, which will probably prove far superior than this one...but seriously, who's going to be better than Ricky Gervais really? I may or may not watch it again since they're moving it to Tuesdays. Hey, it was better than NBC's take on Coupling. After that train wreck last year all of my friends (who don't get BBC America) thought I was nuts for liking the British version of Coupling. They just couldn't believe me when I insisted there was no comparison.
