My vote for best scripted TV show

There a lot of scripted shows on television. I've enjoyed comedy (Seinfeld, Raymond), drama (CSI) and others. But I've just discovered 24 and I think it ranks as perhaps the best scripted programming I've watched. I borrowed the 1st season DVD set and can't believe I never watched it! Each hour has so much heart-pounding action (literally...I am on the edge of my seat the entire time). I am addicted and hopefully by the time I plow through seasons 2 and 3, season 4 will be out. Unfortunately, I missed it and it's already five or six episodes in...

What's your all-time favorite scripted TV show?

I don't know about all-time-favorite but right now I won't miss Joan of Arcadia.

I think "Lost" is doing a great job right now....a strong revival of the hour long serial action drama.

I would have to say "Lost" and "Alias".

Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Angel has a slight edge because its last seasons were so good, whereas Buffy's last seasons seemed endless. I don't like the fact that most of the characters on Buffy were unlikable by the time the show ended, and that tainted my whole appreciation of the fabulous earlier seasons.

It's not my all-time favorite, but Boomtown should have lasted longer than it did. It was creative, interesting, had great actors, was very well-directed and, although formulatic, was not predictable. The downfall: awful placement and marketing.

That said, I miss The Pretender. I always had a soft spot for Jerod.

Currently - I like Deadwood, The L Word and CSI.

I'm in a nostalgic mood: China Beach. Even hearing that harmonica they played over the closing credits can make me cry.
Buffy's also right up there. I think a lot of people dismissed it as fluff because of the name. They missed out. Anyone who saw "The Body" knows that show was far from fluff.
I also desperately miss thirtysomething and my so-called life.

Right now: Lost.

definitely agree with Boomtown....it was a great great show.
Nip/Tuck is good as well....when is that coming back on???

Of course Alias and Lost, but I like Desperate Housewives as well!
