    Under-rated TV Actors/Actresses.

Which actors/actresses do you think are highly under-rated and don't get the recognition they deserve?

I think Chris Noth is sadly overlooked. He's so talented.

I can't think right now of any underrated ones, but boy can I think of a bevy of overrated ones, lol.

This is a good topic though.

No kidding! Julia Roberts is way overrated.

Maybe we should make a thread for overrated actors too.

Gary Sinise ~ underrated. I'd like to see more of him.

Hmmm... mix the under and over in the same thread?

Underrated: Ed Harris (he can never be out there enough for me. He's fascinating.)

Overrated: Gwyneth Paltrow.. I've never liked her.. blech.

Claire Danes ~ underrated. I thought we'd be seeing lots of her after "My So-Called Life"

Topher Grace (That '70's Show and the movie 'Traffic') should be the biggest young star.

Gwenneth Paltrow defines overrated. She is the apex of fame > quality work. I don't even understand how its possible.

Cool, can mix the overrated with the underrated.

    Underrated:
    Tommy Lee Jones
    Ed Harris (I agree, Broadway)
    Morgan Freeman
    Danny DeVito
Bette Midler (very underrated in her ability to do light comedies well)

    Overrated:

    Julia Roberts to the EXTREME!
    Gwyneth Paltrow
    Kirsten Dunst
    Russell Crowe
    Meg Ryan
George Clooney (even tho he is nice eye candy )
    Drew Barrymore
    Cameron Diaz
    Jim Carrey
    Renee Zelweiger
    Lindsey Lohan
    Colin Farrell
    Leonardo DiCaprio
Mike Myers (probably an acquired taste)
    Catherine Zeta-Jones
    Nicole Kidman
    Kelly Rippa
    William Shatner

    Uh... I'll stop now

I agree with Chris Noth (just watched "Exiled: A Law and Order Movie" and realized how much I loved him as Mike Logan on L&O), Gary Sinise and Ed Harris. All excellent actors.

My others would be Anthony LaPaglia and Jason Wiles (who is awesome on Third Watch). I also have a thing for Eric Close from Without a Trace, but I think it's currently a crush (shhh don't tell my husband).

As for underrated shows, I'd have to say Third Watch - it never gets recognized by the critics and keeps me fascinated every season.
