Ooohhh--good one, SFG--Ron Eldard has been a fav of mine since Drop Dead Fred.

As for underrated TV actors, I nominate the casts of Reno 911 and Significant Others--they certainly don't get the same kind of recognition fully scripted shows do, and their improv situation comedies are some of the best going.

Christopher Guest, Eugine Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Parker Posey...all the actors in A Mighty Wind, Best In Show, Waiting for Guffman, etc.

    Love those movies!

One of the worst movies ever in the history of ever!

Here's an over-rated actor for ya:

    Jack Nicholson

    I like him, but I just think he's over-rated.

    Discuss.

Underrated, BIG time - William H.Macy.

If you didn't see the movie "Door to Door".. do yourself a favor, rent it. You'll be amazed at the level of transformation this Actor was able to achieve, both physically and emotionally.

    Absolutely incredible.

I think Jim Kerry is actually EXTREMELY UNDERrated. Everybody sees him just as a comic relief actor, who makes stupid faces and goes bananas on the set of any talkshow he is on.

BUT I saw him in "Majestic"... Lemme tell you. There is a serious Actor inside this clown exterior. He was brilliant in this role. It's pity people don't want to see him in serious roles.

on Ron Eldard. He's very good.

Underrated TV actress? Maura Tierney (ER), without a doubt (although she has done some movies) she's also a great comedic actress, too

I don't really think he's underrated or overrated...but someone I think who is a great actor....

Robin Williams. I never really had an opinion on him, until I was in the 8th grade and my teacher showed me Dead Poet's Society and Awakenings. I think he is absolutely brilliant in more serious roles. Those movies are absolutely great, and I would highly recommend them.
