Then she told Mindy that she is messed up. The audience lauughed and like I said before I did as well. I thought she was kind of kidding around. Than she told Mindy "you are really messed up" I think she said it twice. I have never seen Oprah so cold to a guest. Especially a celebrity. I just got the feeling Oprah didn't like her.

I think Oprah could of been a little nicer. She treated her really bad. She has treated other celebrities who have done a lot worse(and actually Mindy didn't do anything wrong), like gold. I don't think it's necessary to tell someone "you are really messed up, over and over again. The girl is pregnant and probably in fragile condition.
I don't think Oprah did not like her. I think Oprah thought she was pathetic and that she needed help. I do think she was harsh when she kept telling her she was messed up. I guess she was trying to do the GET REAL thing that Dr. Phil is always talking about. Mindy just sat there and agreed that she was pathetic. The girl has low self esteem and Oprah saying all of that probably did not help...........

I would have to agree with the assessment that Oprah has no business telling a very unstable girl... numerous times... that "you are screwed up!". I much rather have seen Mindy on Dr. Phil where he most likely talked her father into getting her check in somewhere... cause it is clear that she isn't even seeing a Doctor for this whole mental aspect of all her problems. If she was... she would not be sitting on the Oprah show. Making excuses for this pinhead who is trying to kill her.

Then to hear that the attack where she was nearly killed... was the 3 hardcore physical attack from the boyfriend. Then Mindy sits there stating how "I still love him... and I spent a year on this relationship... I just don't want to walk away." I was stunned.

Exactly how many ass-whippings does she need to take before she realizes that he does not love her. He is using her... and most likely got another girlfriend somewhere else. And there sits Mindy... "I need to to want to be a father to our babyyyyy..." Oh brother. All I want to know is why the court or her father has not pushed to get her in-patient help.

I didn't like the way Oprah spoke to Mindy either. It seemed to me that she wasn't even paying attention. It was almost like she was thinking that she should have had her good friend Maria or somebody else instead of Mindy.

Friday's show: High point: Nate !!! Low point: I really didn't like Oprah's statement at the end! "Thanks to all the pros..........all the pros who are MY friends!" or something like that. That really rubbed me the wrong way.

I just think it was unkind to keep telling her she was "messed up" "no I mean you are really messed up" I'm really surprised that Oprah did not do an intervention or at least something. Mindy is in very serious trouble, and her issues are much more then her mom saying "your not that good of a singer" or something else. I'm guessing she was molested as a child. My dad told me lots of bad things when I was younger, he doesn't anymore, because I don't talk to him. He told me If I tried going to college I would flunk, I could write a book about all the mean things he said. I think a lot of parents say hurtful things to there kids. There is a lot more to Mindy's past then her mother telling her she was not a great singer. I don't watch adult films, but I have a general interest in why peole go into porn, and I'm sure Mindy's past reads a lot like a porn star.

    The Oma-Oprah show!
Did anyone see the show about the 9/11 widow who had a shopping addiction after being given 5 million dollars (from charity)? Oprah had intended the show to be about that and apparently the lady had other plans .... she wants Ground Zero to have a memorial to the victims and obviously was using Oprah's show as a forum for that.

Oprah showed her absolutely no mercy. It was kind of an attitude like how dare you try to expound your own ideas on MY show when I didn't know about it .... let's get back to your ridiculous use of money given to you.

I felt pretty bad for the widow because Oprah kept beating into the her that she was wrong to use any of the money for her own things. GOOD GRIEF!! You give 5 million dollars to somebody, what ARE they supposed to do with it?

Luckily, Dr. Robin (to the rescue) tried to soften Oprah up a bit about the grief process but I think most of the audience quite understood that anyway.
I know that's what I was screaming at Oprah.... it's the way she's expressing GRIEF for heaven's sake. Then Dr. Robin got into the real issue of the widow not continuing on with her life and being there for her children.

Go Dr. Robin! I say the public demands that the Oprah show be turned over to her.

I watched the show, and I really didn't see the purpose of having her on the show. What I never understood was did other people get as much money as she did? And why did she get so much? I remember Howard Stern(he's my hero) talking about her awhile back. It really should be a non-issue, she was acting like Dr Phil again. It really is her money and really she can do whatever she wants with it. The show should of focused more on grief And how shopping is her void for dealing with the death of her husband. Dr Robin Smith is excellent and should have her own show. Oprah likes to talk over her. I hate when Oprah plays therapist.

Another thing that bugs me about Oprah is the weight. I really don't care what her weight is, as long as you are happy and healthy that is all that should matter. Oprah focuses to much on food addiciton, theme topics. Its really Oprah being self-absored with her own issue

I watched Oprah after the show and someone in the audience said she loves to exercise and Oprah looked like it was unheard of. I'm a runner and love doing it. For mean its a release, Oprah thinks excerise is a chore for everyone, maybe for her, but not me.

I didn't watch the Mindy McCready episode, so I can't comment. I did watch Friday and saw the ridiculous segment with Oprah's makeup artist. I absolutely know how to do my makeup but really, who the hell puts on liquid foundation with a brush!? Probably someone who has someone else to clean it for them every day. Plus, all that highlighting on the nose and the brow - what the....? Maybe that's necessary for Oprah when she's on camera, but come ON!

I thought all of the ladies looked fine with the makeup on, but I wondered how good it was going to look in 8 hours. I don't think they did any of those women a favor - that's not makeup you can do in the real world. Especially not if you aren't very good at it anyway. They should have just sent them home with a Bare Escentuals kit

Also, I love Nate - I just want to give him a big squeeze when he's on the show - but really, why would you paint a bathroom chocolate brown? He says it makes them feel more cozy. Yeah, especially if your bathroom is the size of the one in the average American home. If I painted my bathroom that color (and my bathroom is actually a little larger average), it would feel like I was inside a little cave....or a cardboard box

katkitty - no, I did not see that 9/11 episode of the Oprah show. But how awful of Oprah. Who is she to judge?! Narcissists tend to be very openly judgmental though - they feel that what they are saying is so wise that, not only is it not wrong to say it but the other person should thank them. (Nevermind it's usually wrongheaded and cruel). That is Oprah in a nutshell (oh how I wish she were in a nutshell! hee)

It really is her money and really she can do whatever she wants with it. The show should of focused more on grief And how shopping is her void for dealing with the death of her husband.
jman, word. But that would require Oprah to have some emotional depth.

And I mean - what a hypocrite. How much money does OPRAH spend in just one month??? I really think she just likes to humiliate people who she feels are not as 'evolved' as she is.

I watched Oprah after the show and someone in the audience said she loves to exercise and Oprah looked like it was unheard of. I'm a runner and love doing it. For mean its a release, Oprah thinks excerise is a chore for everyone, maybe for her, but not me.
The only exercise Oprah likes to do is 'picking up compliments'.

Critical and ClosetNerd - LOL! Sounds like Nate is getting to be impractical too. He's a good egg though.
