Hmmmm, maybe it's just me, but I think that some "jokes" just aren't funny. Or kind. Or warranted.
Or accurate. I don't think Oprah thinks she's God. I think she's a very driven woman who is trying to do everything that she knows (and learns) how to do to help to make people's lives better -- in fact to help them be the best they can possibly be.

Different strokes, I suppose. I thought it was very funny.

Personally I find these humane mouse traps rather ineffective. Better to lay down some glue and when you hear the critter scream you take a shovel to his head.

I like Oprah, but saying not to joke about her just reinforces the idea that she's above the rest of humanity (i.e., a deity).

I remember reading a serious article in a magazine years ago that there are two 20th century figures that have all the hallmarks of becoming the start of a new religion someday: Oprah and Elvis. My money's on Oprah, personally.

That is why we were laughing at the irony that the WEATHER preempted her "final" final show last week.

I read a science fiction book once, in which there actually was a religion based around Elvis... It wasn't the only religion in the country, in the future, but it was an important one. Maybe one of these days someone will do a variant based on Oprah--this book was done before Oprah became so popular/important.

I think God plays a big role her her life,as it does with many many people.God doesnt play a big role in my life, but I still love Oprah. I dont care about jokes and such. I think if we knew Oprah and how much of a prankster she is, she wouldnt care either. I watched OWN today, and its getting better. I am starting to enjoy it more. I agree , she is very driven, and although she might rest, she wont rest very long. She loves to work, and her work seems to love her.
