I wondered why at first, but then figured for dramatic affect it seemed better for House to have to really believe he needed to do this and had to walk that stretch freely based on his commitment to the program. Front door drop off was to much like a delivery, and didn't show his defeat and affirm his desire to heal.

Plus, it paralleled the wedding - new path for Chase & Cameron (yay, glad that happened) and the new path for House. Cuddy seemed torn, wanting to be there for House as well as support the newlyweds.

It was a great episode and I hope that House can survive off the vicodin.

    Re: House

So what really happened was that House said he needed help and Cuddy said, too bad, my babysitter's time is up at 730, see ya? And he never screamed that he'd had sex with Cuddy to everyone? And never told Wilson, or implied to Cuddy, that they'd had sex?
And he tried to detox by himself and failed?
I get that they never had sex, but am a little fuzzy on how much else was an hallucination. Did he not have the 2 patients either? Parrot man and the split brain guy? Or did he have them but not have Parrot man take his poo to Cuddy?
All that flashing back and forth got to me even with the help of different clothing.
What's odd was that the "morning after" when he was stealing her coffee cup I was wondering why she was not wearing lipstick... I guess she was, just very pale...but I was thinking she'd left it behind at House's.

    Re: House

I think the patients were real. But he hallucinated the detox and sleeping with Cuddy.
I wanted to cry when he realized it didn't happen. He'd been so happy. And then the look on Wilson's face as he watched House go into the mental hospital. I wanted to cry then too.
Great episode, these actors are fabulous. They really had me going and I was getting so mad at Cuddy, until I realized she was really mad at House and they hadn't slept together.
Glad Chase realized why Cameron didn't want to give up the sperm and they were able to go through with the wedding.
And I got one last glimpse of Kutner who had become my favorite.
Still very sad for House and hope he can detox and still be House. The person he is vs the person he thinks he is? All that right and left brain stuff had me so confused.

Wow! Yes, you did and it was beautiful and fulfilling to watch. Did you miss the entire show or just the end?

You can always catch it over on Fox.

I think she wrote it as a question first not as a statement, but if I am wrong - dear nilesgirl, I apologize.

I did ask it as a question. That's fine, Mike's Girl. Only problem with watching it on Fox online is I have to wait 8 days. That's okay. Yes, I only missed the end. My husband filled me in on most of it but forgot to tell me about the wedding because he didn't realize I wanted to know about that part. He thought I only wanted to know about the patient and House.

And did he also hallucinate telling the world he slept with Cuddy? (If not she must have really thought he went around the bend--for her sake I hope that was part of the hallucination!).

He really did tell them he slept with her. That's why she got so angry and fired him. As she was talking to him he began to realize that none of it actually happened, it was in his mind. That's when he decided he really needed to see a professional about what was going on in his brain.
    Yup, with donuts!!
