Eastenders

Ok so most people love eastenders! But doesn't anyone feel that the storylines seem to be gaining wieght as they seem to roll down the hill? In other words i feel they're not as good as they used to be? Its still cool i still watch it! But it seems a little silly! :phhht :rolleyes

I don't watch Eastenders. It's dark and depressing compared to Corrie.

I agree there's quite a contrast between the two, but I love them both. I only wish I could watch EastEnders - none of my channels has carried it for the last couple years.

Yeah I know, but I don't have digital. I'd love to see older episodes, especially if "Dirty" Den Watts is on.

I've seen some really old episodes on BBC America. At least when I used to get BBC America...

Yeah, remember when the Canadian PBS affiliates carried Eastenders? Now BBC Canada have it stuck on Sunday mornings, like I can ever watch it then. I still try to catch it when I can, and I've read the website for updates, which of course is a good year or so ahead of what we get here. The newer characters are just not as fun to me as the old guard...I miss Michelle and Grant especially. I loved the storyline when Sharon & Phil had their affair...such drama!

And Qboots, Den was the best. The show was never the same after his passing.

Don't they show it during the week on BBC Canada as well? By the way, AJAne, I don't think Sunday from 1-3 pm constitutes "morning" showings. I haven't watched it (it is a weird time period and I'm not home during the week - darn working world) but I read the updates in Heat etc. How far behind is BBC Canada by the way?

I love the OLD East Enders episodes, but I agree with you, the story line just became too much after awhile & I actually stopped watching it. Like most soaps when they run too long... it gets too watered out & the quality plummets.

It's morning here in Western Canada, my friend. I actually did get a chance to watch yesterday, since I was sick as a dog and took over the couch and TV for a few hours. The kiddies can watch freakin' Dora the Explorer anytime. :phhht Almost sorry I did 'cause I happened to catch poor Roy having a heart attack and dying and his badass son Barry throwing Pat out of the house.

Last time I checked the Eastenders BBC website, it was approximately one year ahead of BBC Canada. That was about six or seven months ago...I'm not sure if it's still the same. Of course if you go there the BBC Canada epis are all spoiled, and they do love to kill people off, so be prepared.
