What the actual what was that season finale? I don't even understand where all that came from? Where is it even going to go?
Yeah, it was an odd finale. I had trouble following too. I'll have to rewatch it. I did DVR it.
Who was the girl found dead in the Captain's bed? Was it the one that had met Olivia's partner outside and started to turn state's witness, but changed her mind?
This is what I don't get. Remember those photos the Captain showed Olivia that were taken of him and this woman suspect some time ago having dinner. Well, he was working undercover. PLUS, he isn't married. So, why would that be some kind of blackmail. A cop working undercover doing something that was NOT illegal. I don't get why he was scared of that.
And did Olivia's partner do anything wrong with that girl? I thought he didn't. That girl was being fed that information. Wouldn't he know that?
I think what we were supposed to get from that scene at the end (other than the fact that Captain Cragen is in a world of hurt) is that the reason Cragen kept trying to get SVU out of the investigation is that he was one of "the higher ups" who used the escort service. Married or not, police officers shouldn't be paying for sex. I'm pretty sure the dead woman was the woman from the escort service we had seen throughout the episode (Carissa??) who was the "queen bee" of slimy guy's escorts according to Cassidy (the policeman working undercover). All of that was perfectly set up by Cragen's backstory and in particular the episode where he went undercover. When he was talking to the Russian woman in that episode and telling her his "cover story", it was clear he was really lonely and deeply regretted never having children. His wife died several years ago and he had a big void in his life. He's also a recovering alcoholic which made the panning from the empty bottle on the bedside table troubling. I'm pissed I have to wait until the fall for the next episode.
so the original L and O is not on anymore, did they ever address the Lt. Van Buren's cancer did she end up okay?
Ok, this is making more sense. At first I was wondering if Cragen went to bed with the girl (who I agree looked like the Queen Bee) knowing that she was there or was she planted after he was somehow drugged. I'm leaning towards the former.
It still irks me how in the last 15 minutes all this "drama" is created and how this group of powerful/mysterious people are out to get the precinct.
I think they said Van Buren got a good diagnosis/doctor's report in the final episode.
I didn't think of Cragen using the escort service. That's an intriguing possibility but he always struck me as rather a straight arrow so it seems like an odd move on his part. And I definitely don't think he'd be taking Carissa (the Queen Bee) to bed knowing she was involved in one of his investigations. And why was she at the bottom of the bed - that was strange?
I was delighted to see Cassidy back. I watch reruns on our Showcase network and he was my favorite from the first season. Recognized him the minute he appeared at the escort agency.
I assumed all along that Cragen was sleeping with the escort(s), and I thought it might be Carissa near the end when she suddenly refused to go into the police station with Amaro. They kept panning to his face throughout the epi, and he was seemed reluctant regarding the whole investigation.
I'm very interested to see how this plays out. SVU is one of the few dramas that is must-see for me. Still miss Elliott, though, but I guess I'll get my Meloni fix from True Blood this year.
Yes, I'm thinking that the Captain was drugged, placed in the bed and then the dead girl placed there. REcall when he woke up and had blood on his hand? That's straight from The God Father. Recall when the guy who would not cooperate with the God Father awoke with his dead horse's head in his bed? That made me think that maybe these people are mob related.
I wonder what the Captain will do? Will he call 911, Olivia or cover it up himself? Hmmmmmmm....
Very, very interesting and unexpected ending with the captain...still miss Elliot though.
I know you are a fan of his, but I must say that I don't miss him all that much. He had his moments, but I find this new guy much more interesting. I'm curious to see how he will handle situations. With Elliot, you already knew how he would react. I grew tired of that.
Do you think they will bring Eliott back for any episodes? I think it would be interesting if the Captain called Elliot to help him when he finds that dead girl in his bed. Wouldn't that be a shocker, especially if he helps with the cover up. Then Olivia gets involved and discovers Elliot was involved. That would be an interesting storyline IMO.
