    Re: Law and Order

I think it was D'Onofrio's decision to leave...he's been phasing out of the show for a while (going from full-season to sharing seasons with Noth and now Goldblum). I don't know if CI will survive...it is probably the weakest Law and Order show, but the original has managed to survive for 20 years with many cast chanes, so maybe CI will survive, too.
Before we begin, what are the parameters of the guessing game? How many guesses do I get? Is there a time limit?

I completely agree it was d'Onofrios decision to leave, I just question the decision to cut everyone else at the same time (although it is Nicholson's decision to not come back too). NBC washed their hands of CI a couple years ago and I don't know how interested USA is in continuing with it - I say we get this season and maybe one more then that'll be it.

Did anyone else see the episode of Law&Order tonight?

What a shocker. I loved how they worked in bits and pieces of the private lives of the various characters and how they put the one detective on an extremely hot seat.

Just when you think they can't do one more interesting episode with something new in it--they come along and do all of that.

I highly recommend this episode for L&O fans.

    Wind,
    That was a terrific episode.
That woman was just beyond belief.
I felt really sorry for the detective.
And it's good to see them fleshing out the character of the Lieutenant and her illness.

Noreality--that's two super episodes in a row. These people are gooood!

That was quite an ending. I had no idea how they were going to get out of the seemingly inescapable corner they'd been painted into.

I guess I'm all on my lonesome . CI is my favourite of all the L&O's, and I love Jeff Goldblum's character. Yes, he is quirky and intellectually curious, much as d'Onofrio's character is, but he is far less angst-ridden and I am quite honestly tiring of the angst.
And so it begins, the end of times..

    Rattus--Hi.

I'm a big Jeff Goldblum fan too. He's been a fave actor of mine for a long time. Unfortunately the only time I get to see his episodes of CI is when NBC decides to re-run them on Saturday nights--which is very spotty. They did it a lot during the summer. So maybe they'll do it again when the current season runs out of first run eps?

Anyway--I am with you on Jeff. And about his character too.

I love both characters. I think Jeff can carry the show if need be. I wish Eames would stay, that would be fun to watch her work with another detective's style.

I read somewhere (Ausielle's column ??) that the changes are not because the actors want to leave. take it for what it's worth.

    Re: Law and Order

I just read that Law & Order - the original - is doing an episode on 10/16 that focuses on a Jon & Kate type couple.
    Should be good.
