    Re: CSI

Right, gross, but no one alive is being tortured. And mostly it is the science...which does include the bugs and sometimes tissue scraping, etc. I have to say the kudzu episode was fascinating in a scary way. I've read about kudzu, and once in a while seen something it covered, but haven't seen it in "action" before!
But back to CSI and Criminal minds...there you are often seeing them seek to rescue people currently n the clutches of the killer--Bones not so much. Makes some sense for Criminal Minds since they deal with serial killers who don't just stop, but CSI seems to be going more and more that way---pr you are shown the torture in action, not just the after effects..

    Re: CSI

the blood, guts and gore doesn't bother me, I've seen some behinds the scenes footage of how they do these things and it makes it less yucky somehow.

its' the horrible characters, I'm looking at you Morgan and Finn. The dialogue is horrible, it treats the viewers like idiots and they've been doing a lot more scenes of the CSIs looking over crime scenes and evidence cut to music as a filler. It's annoying. Whoever thought Elizabeth Harnois could act should be shot between the eyes.

Did anyone watch last night's episode? It introduced Patricia Arquette as a cyber crime fighter. It was the lead in for a new CSI. CSI: Cyber starring Patricia Arquette. I'll watch. In my opinion, it was the best CSI show that I have seen in a long time.

I liked last night's episode. It moved at a good pace. I enjoyed PA when she was on Medium, so I had an open mind going in and came away with a positive opinion. I hadn't heard that there was a spin-off in the works, but it doesn't surprise me with Miami and NY now being defunct. It would be nice if they borrowed a few of those characters, especially from NY (and especially Danny Messer). That alone would make me want to watch even more.

Totally agree inthegarden! I found it far more interesting than I was expecting. I'll definitely watch if it gets picked up. I wonder if they've decided on any of the other cast yet. Patricia Arquette was really the only one from the cyber task force we saw.....

We did see her computer expert co-worker (via the internet) . . . . I believe she called him "Click". He's the one that confirmed Hodges has gone to adult content websites! We only saw him briefly and he didn't look at all familiar to me.

I just watched it online (on my laptop, where I have an index card covering my camera ;-) ), and I thought it was really good. I hope that it really does become a spinoff...I'm fascinated by this stuff. And by the "human lie detector".

    Re: CSI

I may watch it also, especially if there isn't too much of the human lie detector stuff...between The Mentalist and that earlier show with the Brit who was the great expert on lying I'm getting a bit tired of it. My son actually does research on deception detection (his adviser was on TV a lot during the Clinton sex scandal period), and the basic conclusion is that even the best at it are a little above chance. Police/FBI/CIA etc., are no better than anyone else, but they are convinced they are, even when she shows them they aren't. I liked PA when she was the psychic (and yes, I know, they don't exist either!).

I'd read about the new show coming. I just rolled my eyes & figured it would be too "out there" for me.
But I loved this week's show. PA was very good & will make a good lead. I plan on watching the new one now.

I've watched the original CSI from the beginning & always liked it. The others I've kind of come & gone from, although I loved Gary Sinise.
I'm sad that Paul G (Capt. Brass) is leaving CSI. He's always been one of my favorites & adds so much to the show.
