Dayum. Would have fit too. Lets see... he's a perpetual loser, has a striped shirt, and will never get that little red(blond) haired girl...
(oh yeah, and he's comic relief...)
Thanks, dagwood.

Hmm... Guttmutter's "pace of the band" comment made me think of something else... maybe his last name is pace because he sets the pace of the show? For instance, when he starts off in a bad mood, it's not going to be too wonderful of a day on the island... I know that definitely happened when he was angry at Boone and tackled him, and then suddenly everyone else got really mad and Jack destroyed that coffin... and whenever he's fine, people don't seem to be too sad... even when that woman died, it still didn't seem too melancholy on the island.

If that's true, then all hell's gonna break loose when he runs out of his happy medicine

Considering the series just got picked up, perhaps the writers haven't thought the whole series out yet. We maybe looking deeper into the people, objects, conversations than the writers intended. I know a few sites have listed future episodes, but maybe everything hasn't been set in stone yet. That said, I will continue to pour over every little detail myself

Jarron, in many cases, I think we look deeper than the writers intended...
But it's fun to speculate, anyway!
I know it's spoilerish, but I would love to know the titles of next few episodes...

Intentional or serendipity? Either way, the names do seem to have multiple meanings that fit their characters. I like to think the writers are brilliant and we are above average for figuring it all out.

Thanks, dagwood.
You're right, that would have fit. Maybe he changed his name when he joined the band.

You're welcome.

No, I think he was the bass player. Still fits the "pace" idea, though.

I do remember that. I just don't get how this ties in with the time that we see the dad standing behind Jack before Jack turns around and sees him.

I love this show!!!

Jarron, from what I've heard, they've planned the show out until at least the end of this season, and have an outline for the next year or so... so I would have to guess that just about everything right now is intentional

Clayaholic - that was just my rebuttal to folks who think he is actually alive and on the island. If he were, I can't imagine why he wouldn't just interact with him normally. As to why we saw him before Jack - maybe he's a ghost?
