I would guess Jin misinterprets Michael's budding friendship with Sun.

I just don't 'buy' that the dad was brought back to life... I think (though I might be proven wrong) that the producer's are going to TRY and have somewhat Plausible explanations for what happens on the island and I don’t think there is any way to explain how an embalmed and (I think) autopsied body can be brought to life. That is toooo much of a stretch. Maybe another explanation of the white tennis shoes on Jack’s dad is that he’d probably have worn them all the time during surgery and such and he remembers that.

OK, so Watership Down is about Rabbit’s and last nite’s episode talked about chasing Rabbits. These castaways are like rabbits trapped in the cage that is the island.

Or, interprets it perfectly correctly. I think Michael's attracted to Sun.

Karen14, you may be right, and there may be very plausible explanations for everything. I love that this show keeps us guessing, and keeps us coming up with many questions and theories - some right on, and some (mine, most likely), that are way out there!

To follow your thought process of plausible explanations, what would be the plausible explanation for Locke being able to walk again? My only thought would be that if he had been in an accident previously, and somehow the crash jostled something back into place that the doctors had been unable to fix with surgery. What are your thoughts?

Maybe his paralysis in itself was psychological.

Wow. Reading all your observations I'm realizing all the details I missed by being forced to watch from a difficult angle with glare last night while Blue worked on her science poster. I will definitely watch Sat. night and possibly even tape, although my children love to catch me being crazily obsessive about anything. Fodder for parental ridicule. If Michael is Walt's dad (??), then Jin must find out he saw Sun naked. I confess I still don't have all the names straight. I joined on the 3rd episode, but read this thread religiously.

I would have thought so, too, except that at one point we saw the father before Jack did. Jack was facing the camera and we could see his father over his shoulder in the background. Then, Jack turned around and saw him. If it was Jack's hallucination, then I don't think we'd see the father until Jack did.

I'm describing this from memory after just watching it once. I know that we saw his father before Jack did, but the rest may be described better by someone who has gone back and reviewed their tape.

I don't think it's so silly. Of course, I was thinking the same thing at the time.
