Locke was sitting on his bed in his apartment talking to Helen. He reaches over to his right and turns off some sort of electronic device. It wasn't a radio. Did anyone notice what it was?

FYI, I subscribe to the this post & get a whole days worth of messages in 1 e-mail, so that they are easier to read (but of course I am a day behind).

Someone asked how much time had gone by, I think only 4 or 6 days so far. It seems each episode is only about a day or 2 on the island.

Also, when they burned the bodies & plane, I think they did go through & take everything that they might possibly be able to use. How do you think they found out all the personal stuff to read at the memorial.

Sorta Spoiler (sorry, I don't really kow how to post one so it doesn't show): I've heard in future episodes the group is going to split into 2 groups: the ones that think they will be rescued & the others who don't & move into caves on the island.

PS, I am a non-Alias watcher too!

My goodness this show is awesome!

I am really behind on reading all of the posts here, so I'm going to go catch up before I join the discussion.

When I envisioned stripping the hulk of possibly useful items, I took it to extremes. I would have wanted the elastic from all the oxygen masks as well as the wiring and anything else that could be ripped and hacked out. They still are fixated on rescue; sometime later when that hope fades they'll think back on the potential goodies that could have helped them that they were too quick to torch.

And they had no better shelter than that plane, though it really would have needed a good cleaning. Most waterproof "item" they had out there. Now, they are going to have to make shelter.

This is my FAVORITE show on tv right now! I also love the discussion going on here! Great work, FORTers-- everyone's insight really makes the show that much more interesting, since I don't catch it all the first (or second, or third ) time. Thanks! I'm really looking forward to the episodes to come.

I agree with those of you who think Walt is "connected" to the island... and I, too, was one of the people who thought Locke was an undercover agent (actually, I didn't figure out that he was talking to his lunch opponent until I read that here!).

The Korean man really makes me nervous. In the second episode when he was preparing the food and talking to his wife, saying things like, "Don't worry about anyone else; we have to stick together...," I honestly thought he was going to serve that food to the others in an effort to kill them! I thought the food was poisonous--especially after Hurley turned it down. I was scared for Clair, but then she was fine... phew! And even though the man "turned" nice when he told Sun he loved her and stroked her face, I still don't like his domineering attitude.

Thank GOD for Hurley & Charlie! (sidenote: Charlie's definitely going to have rough times ahead!!) I loved watching them fish! Made me laugh out loud!

I really like all of the characters, and I am worried about what is coming our way from the producers. I read that they don't want the viewers to think they aren't beyond sending out three main characters into the woods with a non-main character (one of the other 30 or so), and one or more of our favorite characters end up not coming back, having been killed out there by the monster... or one of the party. Yikes! I have actually noticed that I get nervous or scared or excited along with the characters in the show-- proof (at least to me!) of outstanding writing and outstanding acting.

Can't wait till next week

The producers said there was nothing "sci fi" about the island, so I think the Walt/mind connection theory won't work....unless someone can come up with a good scenario where that could be pseudo-scientifically explained???

I think the thing at the side of Locke was either a short wave radio (ham radio) or a police/airport radio.

This show makes me think of the movie Vanilla Sky...
