The farmer saw her picture at the post office.

I don't think a bounty hunter would be allowed to post pictures there.
Australian police are out of their jurisdictiion in International/Federal cases. The price thing is the sticking point. 23k is odd. Kate having to make....Dead Shrapnel Guy..."promise" to get him the cash. The reward might have been a bogus offer from a bounty hunter. But shackles on a plane? Hard to say, fun to speculate.

Sorry to re-hash the badge discussion, but wouldn't an official badge be enclosed in a wallet along with a photo ID? Sawyer held up a badge with no wallet or photo. Unless, of course, that was Sawyer's fake badge.

touque, you have never seen an episode of Alias?! Run, don't walk, to the nearest video store and rent it. I guarantee you will be hooked.

I've never seen Alias either. There just aren't enough hours in a day.

My 1st thought was bounty hunter. I wouldn't think a US Federal Marshall would have jurisdiction in Australia. If they were extended a courtesy to him wouldn't he have been accompanied by Australian authorities?

There are badge wallets that look like flip phones, badge on one side, photo i.d. on the other. You can then slide it over your belt so either the photo or badge is showing.

I was thinking the same thing when Kate was arrested. If there was some big wanted criminal don't you think more than one person would be present for the arresting. Not some creepy man pulling up next to her making gun shapes with his hand. If she was a wanted person by the government it seems that a whole slew of people would be there to make sure she did not escape.
I have also never seen Alias!

I will admit my faults too, I have have never seen Alias either.

The 'agent' was very creepy, he definitely was not legitimate.

I agree with what someone else said (dont remember), Why doesn't Kate just say what she did????

If she did I guess we all wouldn't be here trying to figure it out...

My thought is that the reward was set in US dollars, and the conversion to Australian dollars would make it that off-kilter amount.

Count me in as another person who has not seen Alias - maybe we should form our own support group?

Totally agree with you who think there is some personal history between Kate and FBI/Bounty Hunter/Federal Marshall/Agent man. If was a "professional" relationship where he simply is tracking her down due to a crime she committed, he would not have told Jack "She got to you too", and he would not have made the finger/gun motion, and she would not have had to ask him to give the farmer the reward money. There are so many theories out there, and I'm anxious to see the real story - but I'm sure we won't for a while because they have to start showing background on the other characters too. And then they'll leave their backgrounds open for discussion with a lot of unanswered questions too. This show will keep us on our toes for quite some time!
