Charlie, at this point I think any and all theories are possible. That's what is great about this show.

I think the baby being born will be a very interesting episode. I also think the writers will use the plane and the luggage as a source of things they need. I wish they would get rid of the bodies and use the plane for shelter though.

OK, I just have to say that as a big "Party of Five" fan, each time I read 'Charlie' I think of Matthew Fow (Jack). It's gonna be hard to disassociate the two in my mind!

I am so THRILLED by this show. It's odd to be engrossed by something other than Reality TV. I would like to second the nomination that LOST gets it's own forum!! I can't get enough of all of your comments.

Thanks so much to everyone who has transcribed, recapped and translated for us. There are so many mysteries and dimensions to this show that it doesn't feel like a spoiler to read these things.

A couple of random thoughts:

-Kate mentioned to the farmer that she had trust issues with men (something to that effect) which could mean the Agent, or possibly a former victim. I don't get strong "bad guy" vibes from her. There is a distinct impression that she is empathetic and sad, and also a bit cunning.

-I agree that there was a real level of familiarity between Kate and the Agent. His quote to Jack was "She got to you too, huh?" implying she had gotten to HIM at some point in time.

-It's possible that all of these seeming TOO coincidental events are actually less than what meets the eye... we are looking so hard for hidden meaning and foreshadowing. Two examples:
1. The baby kicking right after the pregnant girl eats sea urchin. As a former pregnant woman, I can say with certainty that the baby will liven up when nourishment is taken into the body. Especially if you haven't eaten for a while.
2. The rain suddenly stopping is a common thing in the rainforest. Yes, it seems a bit coincidental that the dad had just promised to look for the dog when it stopped raining, but still... it could happen. I just think we are being taken for a bit of a ride by the writers/director with some of these seemingly "obvious" assumptions.
3. Yeah yeah yeah. I can't come up for a good argument on the polar bear thing!

Anyways, thanks for reading my thoughts and posting your own. Can someone pass me a pocket protector? I am SO gonna geek out with this show.

Now that you say that, I am remembering that the pilot said something to the effect of "by the time the plane went down we were thousands of miles of course." They could be just about anywhere with that in mind!

Totoro, I do the same thing!

I was obsessed with Party of Five, though I HATED Charlie on the show. I like Matthew Fox on this show, though.

I still think they are more than coincidences.

There is a good website for Lost fans that links to a spoiler forum. There are some good photos of future episodes. Looks like a lot of good stuff!

Perhaps on the previews the man in black is like a bizarro Mr. Rourke and this is a bizarro Fantasy Island, heh.

Or not...

At any rate, I am really hoping they do not decide to not go looking for where the other transmission is coming from!! I would guess if they could locate that signal, they might find a wreckage or camp from 16 years ago and have some clues as to what they can expect during their time on the island...

Actually I have a hunch they probably will eventually go looking for that signal, question is....what will they find????
