Jay---you picked up on something I watched but really didnt notice. Everybody was being nice to each other after the kid got his dog.
I also got the impression that Kate and the Marshall were more involved. The way he pursued her with such relish, made it look personal.
Did the doctor put the marshall out of his misery after that idiot shot him in the chest? It looked as if he did, but nothing was mentioned about it.

Excellent point! I just took it as the calm before the storm.. JJ Abrams letting us have a brief moment of levity before hell breaks loose next week. We'll have to see.

Walt: I also noticed that it INSTANTLY stopped raining when the father said he would look for the dog. That is NOT coincidence!

Hurley: Love him!!! He was listening to a cd player, I can only assume he brought it on the flight. I have beat the crap outta some of my toys and they keep working. If it was in a bag, there is no reason to think it wouldnt survive. What we questioned was why he didnt hand it in to Sayid to fix the transceiver.

Kate and Sawyer: I dont see them as having a relationship from before the flight. I also didnt see Kate flip into killer mode. I saw it as Panic mode because the marshall was asking her to kill him and she couldnt do it.

Jack: I dont think he lost his license because of drinking... he could be a nervous flyer... or he had 20hr flight to kill and figured being drunk would make it go faster. As far as what he lost it could be he lost his faith in medicine because he wasnt able to save someone he cared about, like his wife.

I'm so glad I have another show to be addicted to.

My take was that when they gave Kate the gun she looked nervous because maybe she didn't trust herself with it. I think it would be too obvious that she is totally innocent. The marshall clearly either was taken with her or saw how men just became taken with her with his comment about she got to you too.

If I were on that island... I'd be taking every item off that plane, taking all the clothes and belongings off the dead people and burying them all quickly. They've got to be smelling pretty bad now.

There is no organization on that island right now. Have they never seen survivors? They need to build shelter and form some kind of community. I'd be at least sending teams out searching that island, for all they know there could be a club med on the other side.

My other thought... that big fat guy... In reality he'd be losing weight big time on that island. I wonder if he'll start losing weight. Oh, and the blonde chick with the brother... love that she has on full makeup.

I am curious as to how they will handle that wilth Hurley too. It's only been 3 days and they have been eating up til now.

So many theories going around. I love it! I really enjoyed last night's episode. It was interesting to see Kate's past. Each one of them have an episode and it will be very interesting to see their pasts unfold.

I was thinking the same thing during the show last night. I still can't decide if I think she is going to be evil or not. I enjoyed last nights show and next weeks show looks even better.
I also think they need to organize better. Why are they not building shelters. Also, after the polar bear was shot, they should have cut it up and used some of the meat for eating.
This show is quickly becoming my new favorite non-reality TV show on.

I think the lack of shelters was their assumption they would be rescued immediately. I think next week will see more of a move towards organization. The breaking into 3 teams for gathering water, etc was a start in that direction.

It looked like Sayed was trying to organize the survivors near the end dividing them into 3 groups to work on the various jobs.

I really think the reason they didn't eat the polar bear or start making shelter is that they think they will be rescued any minute. Once they realize they will be there for a while, the priorities will emerge.

Loved this episode and read all the postings to make sure I didn't miss out any details... I think each detail leads to some important information later. The rain stopping when the boy wanted his father to look for the dog was a huge indicator that the boy, or some other type "spiritual being" is controlling the island, maybe even the old guy. Like why wasn't the father attacked in the jungle? The growl was meant to keep him away from "something". I also think Kate was either forced into doing something wrong or framed. She is showing too many positive aspects of her personality. The reason Jack didn't want to know her past is because he also has a past, whatever that is. These are just my crazy thoughts!

I've been curious about that too! I'm trying to figure out the meaning behind this. Also, judging by the amount of tape on his fingers, he has done this for a long time and just continues to create different four letter words. I would say he's just easily entertained, but with this show there are so many hidden secrets that it has to mean something.
