![]() I thought this episode had a lot of interesting backstory on Kate, but it looks like next week will be more interesting in the sense of moving things forward on the island. I wanted to throttle the doctor guy when she said she wanted to tell him what she did and he didn't want to know. *I* want to know! ![]()

I'm really glad this show is picking up. I must admit the first episode seemed a little slow. The storylines are great and I love the flashback sequences.

As for the "we all died 3 days ago", I just think it was a reference to the crash. They are all basically starting a new life. I think he is resigned to the fact that they may never be found. Especially after he heard about the transmission they picked up. It was a great episode, and I got a little teary when the dog came back. The old man is creepy, though. What happened in the previews for next week? We had an Amber alert so I missed them.

| Jack was just being pensive with that remark. Kate looks pretty guilty to me. If she was innocent, I think she would have told Jack right away. There was a city name (unfamiliar) on her mugshot photo. I hate to be a pain and harp on plot holes, but •why didn't Kate mention the "polar bear" to Jack when she was telling him about the radio transmission ? • why didn't the "federal agent" tell Jack about Kate before he had Creepy Smoker Dude (try to) kill him ? Earlier he was screaming blood 'el about her, warning Jack about her.• what was illuminating the tent? I spaced out that detail. •3 days and they still haven't gone through the wreckage looking for a cel phone ? And for that matter.....no one has a cel phone? They haven't buried/ disposed of the dead yet? It ain't gonna get any prettier in there folks. Okay, now I'm annoying myself....I DO enjoy the show while I watch it. ![]() |

| I don't know that they would be able to get a signal with a cell phone where they are at, plus a battery that would last that long. I can see the Verizon guy walking by now............. |

| Hurley cracks me up. He faints when he sees blood, runs away when he sees Kate's gun, is afraid to go into the fuselage where the dead bodies are, and thinks the noise in the jungle is a dinosaur. I still think Kate's innocent. She saved the agent's life in the plane, and pulled the farmer clear of the burning truck. She didn't seem to know how to unload the gun. She wanted the farmer to get the reward money. She couldn't even kill the agent when he wanted to die. I wonder if she's really Canadian or if that's just part of the lie she told the farmer. I think the fact that the farmer only had one arm is a clear indication that Kate is like Dr. Richard Kimble in The Fugitive: innocent! Sawyer looks like the guy to watch out for. He originally found the gun and didn't tell anyone, didn't have much problem shooting the agent (albeit badly), and was looting the luggage in the fuselage. It really was cool that it stopped raining right when Michael made that comment. And then he got a peek at half-naked Sun. Let's hope Jin doesn't find out. It was nice to see Jin stroke Sun's cheek and say he loves her. What did Mr. Locke tell Walt: "A miracle happened here"? Does he mean the fact that they survived, or was he referencing something from the past? It was pretty cool that his hand-made whistle got Vincent the dog to come out of the jungle. And did Jack really kill the agent? Did he smother him? What the heck was the agent's name, anyway? I hate just calling him 'the agent'. I didn't really like the sappy music playing near the end, and everybody was happy. I like my TV dark and brooding. Thank god for Mr. Locke.

| I took it to mean that Jack smothered the agent. And I wonder if Sawyer is really as bad as he seems -- you'd think any true bad guy would know to shoot someone in the head, not the chest. ![]() I feel sure whatever Kate did, there's an explanation that will make it ok to us -- like she killed an abusive boyfriend, or something. It seems she's being made out to be non-threatening, what with saving the man in the truck and all.
