| A great episode; such a contrast between tonight and last week's cheese fest. Poor Sawyer. Now we can appreciate his anguish. I love the relationship developing between Claire and Charlie. Next week's Sayid episode looks intense as well. Did anyone find it a little difficult to understand the dialogue with all the background noise? |

| Next week's preview shows Sayid getting caught in some woman's snare. The french woman perhaps? And I believe Jay is correct, next week is going to focus on Sayid. What else did we learn tonight? Charlie wants Claire to move to the cave. Hurley actually is losing weight, it's just not very noticeable yet. In his words: "It will be a while before anyone offers me a piggy-back ride." Locke thinks Sawyer used a time-delay device (like a cigarette) to set off his flare and give him time to sneak up on Sayid. Sun seems to know a lot about herbs/natural medicine.

| "The bad boy, the supposedly bad boy, the predictably good boy by the end of the story." We'll see, I guess. What I really loved about tonight's episode is what we learned about Sayid. He's developing into a really complex character.... he appears to be a really good guy, but there's a dark side, a true toughness that rivals any of the others. Oh, and I have to say, I'm just so glad I read "The Confidence Man" by Melville... :rolleyes *sigh* And yeah, the server is brutal on and off. |

| I don't think it was Sawyer who whacked Sayid. I imagine in order to rig a cigarette to ignite the signal at the exact moment would be difficult. Oh yeah, Sayid just wasn't a "Radar O'Reilly" communications officer in the Iraqi army. |

| One other thing. I need to re-watch the tape to be sure, but maybe someone can confirm this: I believe Sawyer said in the flashbacks that the briefcase contained $140,000 and he was trying to raise another $160,000. He left the case overnight with David and Jessica, and went to play pool with the black guy whose money was in the case. But I thought that guy referred to the sum in the case as $160,000. That would mean Sawyer had pocketed $20,000. Not that it would be unlike Sawyer to do that, I'm just wondering if I mis-heard what the guy said.

| Maybe Locke suggested it in order to throw suspicion away from him. |

| But I really like Locke! I don't want it to be him either. It was probably the same woman who snares Sayid next week.
