I agree it was still a great show. I think december was right on with the moth symbolizing "moth to a flame" and also that the moth needs to struggle to become stronger.
It was just a little too much for me that they had Charlie crawl through the tunnel to help Jack and crawl out of the cave, not unlike a moth emerges from it's crysalis. And the final image of the moth flying away free just took it a wee bit over the top for me.
Other than that, I really enjoyed the show.

Was anyone else a little nervous that poor Sayid was relying on our villians to help with the antenna? But it looks like Shannon and Sawyer pulled through. They're not so bad, really. Just misunderstood, I think.

Did anyone else have LOTR's flashbacks when the showed Charlie with the hood and his face all dirty? : And the way he was rolling that bag of drugs in his fingers before he chucked it into the fires of cave doom...
All that was missing was the prosthetic chin.

DJeter, it wasn't just you. And you're right, we can't expect perfection. The honeymoon's over for me, but I think we can still build a solid relationship with this show.

Yes, the symbolism was pretty obvious, as even I got it! I knew something was wrong when I was watching the show and didn't have any questions!

Actually, there is the one question: Who hit Sayid? Some say Locke - perhaps because he actually likes living on the island. One person said Jack - no, he was trapped at the time. I wonder if it's someone we haven't been introduced to yet? It just seems to me that it would have to be someone who knew what their plan was - Locke didn't know what they were doing, and he was off skinning a boar so I'm not so sure it was him. Perhaps Sawyer got someone else to send off the flag and he was the one who hit Sayid? This puzzles me.

Gutmutter - in reference to Charlie and a reason why he shouldn't have been on the plane: he should have taken his brother's offer to stay with them and clean himself up. Now he's doing it on the island instead.

This episode was the weakest so far. It was too predictable. C'mon, who didn't think Charlie would throw the drugs into the fire? When Charlie and Jack emerged out of the cave, blech, it was so Tom-Sawyerish. While Locke would not be unhappy living on the island, I don't think he slugged Sayid because he wasn't around when Sayid, Kate and Sawyer set out on their triangulation task.

Not just you, DJ. But it's to be expected. I love Smallville, but every 3rd or 4th episode is just fluff. It's true with every serial on TV. Heck, it's true with reality tv shows as well. Like last week on Survivor!

I agree.....a bit predictable, but still interesting....hopefully the storyline will pick up for next week.

Where did Sayid get the fireworks? If I had crashed on a deserted island and found some fireworks, they would all be lit the very next evening.

My only complaint with the episode: the size of the tunnel they dug to get to Jack. Granted, they had structural concerns, but to have dug that far, and only that wide, they would have had to pull out rocks one at a time, backing their way out of the tunnel each time, only one person in the tunnel at a time. I just thought that was poor set design/poorly executed.

Oh, wait - two complaints: where is Claire? (I assumed she would stay with the doctor, for obvious reasons, but the show seems to have forgotten about her for a bit )

Yes, Claire hasn't been on the last two episodes. That's disappointing, because I really like her character. But then again last week we didn't see Shannon and Boone, and they were back this week. I'm sure we'll see her again, when it comes time for her baby to be due, if not sooner.

Lucky, I'd say. If you're too young to drive yourself here... you're far too young to be hugging the hell out anybody.

Just kidding. Glad you like them.
