| I agree, Duxx. As Eileen said, this was a medical problem. The stress Sarah was under as a result of Todd telling her about Karl no doubt didn't help, but it's not as though that's the main or sole reason she had to deliver the baby early. I was pleased Gail gave Todd the picture and once again annoyed by Sarah's stunning display of immaturity in not registering the baby with a name just to spite Todd. I really dislike Sarah. She doesn't improve at all. A very spoiled, selfish, immature girl. I was also pleased that the show didn't drag out the story with the baby. Although I already knew he was going to die, I'd have hated to watch the show for three or four nights wondering when it would happen. I don't know why Blanche is so quick to rent out the house to Danny. Sher doesn't even know if Tracey will get the job in Portsmouth. She might be coming back with Amy in a couple of weeks and she'll have nowhere to live. | |

![]() Danny's wife is quite the looker isn't she? Best looking woman to grace the street in a while. ewww @ Les for trying to snog Janice with a mouthful of chips. Poor, poor Sunita - is she doomed to always be unlucky in love? Bev was a nasty cow - she's really become unlikeable. I have to admit I was dangerously close to tears when the herse drove down the street with that teeny, tiny coffin and Billy spelled out in flowers. I didn't want Sarah to have the baby in the first place but what a terrible thing to happen. Fluff I have to agree with your assessment of Sarah - she's unbearable. I loved how Tommy shut Sally up about the clown car too. There's another one thats ready for the looney bin. Sally needs to have some dreams of her own so she can leave her kids alone.

| I was tearing up too, Duxx. It was so sad to watch the herse. I was pleased that Sarah felt guilty about not registering the name. Todd should have been at the funeral though. I hope she'll start to feel guilty about that too. As for Sally, most parents live for their kids, she's living through hers. Sally doesn't allow her kids any room to breathe. She's all over them. It must be unbearable for the kids. Give them some space for heaven's sake. Sally actually has some good ideas for the garage, but is so overpowering no one really wants to listen ![]() | |

| Sarah is not one of favorite character these days either. Does this girl never stop? She's had an internet perv after her, little Bethany was snached from the hospital as newborn by Kevin's disturbed girlfriend Allison, that business with Bethany's grandmother wanting to kill herself and the child, and now losing her baby. They should give this character a rest. Is there anyone here from England? I want to know if having the hearse come to your door and then the family follow it to the church for the services, is the custom there? That is how all the funerals are held on Coronation St. Also is it an English thing to spell out the dead person's name in flowers? This another thing I've only seen on C.S. It seems Blanche couldn't wait to get back into Ken and Deardre's place again. Now Tracey and the baby are back and they are all under one roof!! Speaking of rooves, poor Eileen will be needing a new one since her home was sold, and she doesn't even know it yet. |

| I'm English cablejockey and having the herse come to the street and spelling the name in flowers are both fairly common. The undertaker often walks in front of the car until it's slowly passed along the street too and people will come out to pay their respects. You're right about Sarah ![]() She's been nothing but trouble really. Gail's family has become the central family on the Street and I agree that they need to give Sarah and break and let her slip into the background for a while. I was moaning aobut lack of continuity in the storylines a while back and it surfaced again here. In reality (yes, I know this isn't reality ) Archie would have been the undertaker for Billy's funeral, particularly considering how close he and Audrey became. It bugs me when they do things like that ![]() I feel and for Eileen and the boys. Steve has no backbone. He better be sure to keep the proceeds of the sale well away from Karen or she's likely to invest in more hair extensions and boob jobs. | |

| Thanks fluff for answering my questions so quickly. So in England there is no going to funeral homes and standing around making small talk and looking at the body? Sounds like you have a better alternative. I liked how everyone stood on the street to pay their respects--everyone was able to be involved in that tragic moment. I forgot about Archie, I guess he isn't on the show anymore. |

| The family can do either, cablejockey. I'm not a fan of the funeral home visits either ![]() If you know there is a funeral for someone on your street and you either weren't close enough to them to go or there was a request for just family at the service people will stand as the herse passes. Just a way of paying your respects. | |

| I'm not sure what happened to Archie. I was sad he left the show. I really liked him. It just seems silly to me that when you have a very close friend who is an undertaker you don't ask them to take charge of a family funeral. It's just logical that he would have been involved even if he's at another branch. It's his company so he could easily do it. I really do take this show far, far too seriously ![]() I have to say I was pleased that Sarah finally showed some maturity and let Todd have some time by Billy's grave. | |

| Of course Fluff and Cablejockey I think it depends on the makeup of the community. At my Auntie's funeral in London, it was a very close-knit working class street of rowhouses, everyone knew her and so the hearse went very slowly with many mourners standing in the street with hats off. Then they had to hurry up and get in their cars as Finchley's miles off! At my husband's Uncle's funeral in a seaside town, people were more transient, neighbours didn't alway know neighbours, so we went to a funeral home and then back to the auntie's. (We had to go in my mother-in-law's car though, as ours was deemed too old to be seen at the funeral. It would have shown them up! I figured people had more important things to do that day than worry about our car's registration, but apparently not!!) Didn't darling Archie leave after Audrey turned him down? Real shame that, it takes the humanity out of the show IMO to take away all those quiet characters who have small, real-life troubles (Mavis and Derrick!!), in favour of the young characters with the over-the-top storylines. |
