| Bev is really pathetic. She is acting like a school girl... to get upset over Charlie and Dierdrie is one thing but to run over and blab her insecurities to Ken after downing a few bottles is pretty sad. Then to find Dierdrie at home and not out with Charlie afterall... that was priceless. ![]() That Imogene Standford is amazingly rude and interruptive. I thought with all her money she could afford some lessons on etiquette and a decent hair style. :rolleyes Nick is a real mama's boy. I don't know how Maria can stand it... and I have really started to dislike Karen... OK... sorry for all the complaints. I really enjoy Corrie but I hope that it returns to its former glory soon with fewer outrageous story lines and over-the-top personalities. Happy New Year all... |

| Just listening to Steve ranting over and over "I want Karen! Karen's the only one I want!", makes me wonder why this guy likes to be treated like crap, pushed around, robbed of his money, and call it love? There's no love between Karen and Liz either. I don't think Karen can get along with anybody. Claire and Ashley are cute, and a better match than Maxine and Ash. Feel sorry for poor old Fred Elliot, who is going to get hurt again by Penny--Ashley was right, his father will whip out a ring and propose at the drop of a hat! Even though Bev did make a fool out of herself over Charlie, at least the writers had a woman of her age living it up with Charlie in the first place. You don't see much of that on tv here. I love all the bother going on about Rosie and Sally the stage-mother. I do feel sorry for Kevin, he will have a tough time convincing Sally she is going way over the top here. |

| The one I feel most sorry for is poor little Sophie. Her mother's head is buried so far up her butt she doesn't even realize what she's doing to her youngest child. I've never, ever liked Sally - she could drop off the face of the earth and I'd never miss her. I love to hate Karen - she's so darned unlikeable one minute but she has you feeling sorry for her the next. She's so insecure and I can't say I blame her because as much as Steve protests that he has no interest in the baby his curiosity will get the best of him eventually. Gayle is entering scary mother in law territory. She managed to chase Maria off but I don't think Nick will stick with mummy's game plan. Personally I find Nick unlikable. I'm suspicious of Mike - why would he have a cow about Nick applying for another job and then reward him with a raise and more responsibility? Unless he was ticked that Nick was good at his job and didn't want to lose him - not just for the 'lack of company loyalty' thing. I really like Ash and Claire they're so sweet together - Claire better come up with a better solution than picking up and leaving every time she and Ashley have a falling out, that will get old fast. I giggled when they almost made it upstairs. So goes the life of those with young children.

| I think Gayle is channeling Ivy. Her long gone ex- mother inlaw was just as horrible to her as she is being. I wonder why she can't see it. Sally was likable years ago , but she has become such a horrid shrew. |

| I agree re Sophie, Duxx. Poor little kid. She's stunningly accurate about Rosie's singing ability too, I think we all wish Rosie'd just shut up. Sally has turned into a crazy showbiz mum. Rosie really is no better than average. I almost wish Janice had been fried in the factory fire. I can't stand her lately. Karen was really OTT when she thought Janice might die too, as was Maria when she thought Nick might have brain damage. I'm just hoping that while he's in hospital they can get a surgeon to remove that peroxided birds nest from his head. | |

| Gail is a psycho. I can't believe Nick is so thick as to not pick up the clues that his mum was trying to smother him and ruin his relationship. Maria should dump him. Quick. :rolleyes Is it just me or does anyone else get annoyed with the way Karen tosses her extensions around... all the while referring to Steve as "baybeh"... I don't really like the way he always has to choose between his wife and his mum (although there seems to be some truth in that... ). I don't mind Liz all that much although I like Jim more. |

| Gail is acting psycho, what's her problem? I feel for her other son, who seems to get no attention from his mother. I hate that Janice has a job for life if nobody hears about her smoking and causing the fire--her and Cilla must be in the top 10 of most unlikable women on the Street, ever. Anyone have the feeling that something big is brewing between Karl and Todd? |

| yeah... it seems that the plot has become relatively transparent... that it is only a matter of time until something happens between Todd and Karl. It seems to me as though the show has become too drama-based rather than character-based... something is always brewing. One person leaves after wreaking havoc and they are replaced by yet another. Murderers, arsonists, parents selling their kids (Terry Duckworth and now Tracy), villains of all sorts... most of the female characters seem to sleep with anyone and (almost) everyone. I am starting to find the show a bit distasteful and hope that things change soon. Gail has always annoyed me but at least the storyline that involves her and Nick is plausible. Sally finally seems to have a purpose and suits her new role as dominating matriarch. I used to like Blanche but her acid tongue is too harsh at times... I end up feeling sorry for Ken and Dierdrie who are usually at the receiving end of the insults. My favorite right now is Chesney and I also find Kirk really likable. The guy is a bit thick but you have to admit that his heart is in the right place. Seems that David Platt is really starting to sprout... he must be a foot taller than he was last year...! I find Bethany and Amy adorable. Just noticed that I seem to like the kids the most...! Always look forward to seeing Jack n Vera. |

| I am so happy to have found this forum. I am newly addicted to this show - the past 6 months and cannot get enough of it. I would love to get my hands on some older episodes. I grew up without cable, only CBC, and refuses to watch Coronation Street with my mother....the music used to drive me crazy. Now, a number of years later, I love the show. Blanche is my favourite character, her one liners are amazing. Chesney is probably a close second. Wolfdiablo
