Dr. Phil--He Gets It Right Once In a While
I've not been shy about my not liking Dr Phil's show--or his attitude towards people he is "trying to help."
IMO shouting at people doesn't really accomplish much--except to create "drama."
once in a while he does seem to get it right.
I stumbled across his show today in which people who were proponents of Gay Marriage and people who were against Gay Marriage had a discussion--which also involved members of the audience making comments and asking questions.
While I disagreed with what about half of the people said--I find that this kind of hour-long pro-and-con discussion can help people sort out their own ideas on a subject.
I don't get cable so I don't know if there are hour-long evenly divided actual discussions (not shouting matches) about big issues--but there is seldom such a discussion aired on network tv.
I think that once in a while Dr. Phil does "get it right" by setting up this kind of situation.
Did anyone else see this episode?
I can try to link the video of it from his website--or you can go to his website--it's his name and dot com--to see the show.
