I watched this show today and felt so "slimed" by it that I took a shower soon afterward but I still feel crappy from it.

On today's show Phil profiled a set of 25-year old twins (named Sarah and Tecoa) who are both addicted to heroin, crack, and some very unhealthy habits, in general.

    http://www.drphil.com/shows/show/797/

It was repugnant to watch as one of Dr. Phil's former "cases," a recovering addict named Joani, took a video camera and filmed one of the twins as she lived her awful life. This broad Joani has been sober for a couple of years (after going through Phil's recommended rehab) so now she's doing her part to get other junkies clean and sober by stepping into the gutter to document the story of these two twins. This was the most disturbing television show I've watched in years, and I wish I never saw it.

The part that blew me away: they filmed one of the heroin twins injecting a teenaged friend with heroin for the first time. HOW CAN THAT BE LEGAL??? Didn't Pete Doherty get in legal trouble for injecting heroin into someone?

Does anyone else find it outrageous that the Dr. Phil show stood by and watched this kind of thing unfolding?? If I were the mother of that teenaged kid I'd be hiring a lawyer tonight, and I really think Dr. Phil's crossed the line with this stunt.

Pom, I've found several shows this season are pretty hard to stomach (namely the father who failed the lie detector test regarding the molestation of his 3-year-old daughter). I don't see a lot of his shows anymore as I've been working full time for quite awhile, but I find now that when I am home during the day it's one of the shows I have to turn off when my kids are in the room.

The show you're describing sounds like some of the stuff I've seen on Intervention (the A&E series), so it's probably not crossing any legal boundaries. Intervention can be pretty hard to watch at times as well.

I don't know where the line is anymore with daytime talk shows. While I find the "fluffy" stories (celebrity stuff, "love" connections, etc.) boring, I don't know that I want to watch teenagers putting needles in their arms. I think that kind of thing can be discussed without accompanying video, but obviously the producers are going for the sensational, shock reaction.

I don't really enjoy the show anymore, personally. The audience is just a pack of brain-dead applauding sycophants, with Robin as their leader, and Phil is becoming a cariacture of himself. I know he had a very successful career prior to the show, so he's undoubtably a smart, insightful man - who seems to have fallen victim to his own PR. Too bad.

Well, I'm home recovering from surgery this week (and the next couple) so I'm going to keep giving this show a peek, just 'cause I have a feeling you're right, AJane.

Today's show is about wedding nightmare brides and grooms. I have a feeling I won't be as grossed out as I was by yesterday's show, so that's an improvement. Still, it looks like they're going all-out to shock us. . . .

For those that watched the Kaylee story about how her dad might be molesting her, there is an update show on Tuesday. The dad took another lie detector test and he passed this one. Looks like Kaylee's mom is accusing him of some other sick stuff from the previews.

Thanks for the reminder. I knew it was coming up soon but forgot when.

Dr. Phil threw a guest off the show before he even had the chance to be interviewed

The guy pays homeless and people money to video them getting beat up, eating live frogs, all kinds of vicious crap. After Dr. Phil saw a bit of his videos (which he hadn't seen before), he decided this guy had no reasonable excuse for his company and didn't want to give him any more air time to debate what he does. The guy seemed shocked and was escorted off by security.

Dr. Phil shouldn't have put him on in the first place though.

That is too funny. I actually recorded the episode because I wanted to see the thing about skinny models.. but I erased it before I watched it because I decided I had too many better things to do with my limeted time. I wish I had kept it a bit longer though. That would have been interesting.

    Re: Dr. Phil

Is it sweeps or something? First the Susan Still video on Oprah, and now Dr. Phil's show is giving me nightmares.

Anyone else been watching this week? Psycho Jeffrey who hides video cameras in his house, checks his wife's email, and monitors her phone records? At least he's in jail now. My heart goes out to his wife - she'll be looking over her shoulder for the rest of her life, and freaking out every time one of her kids is late coming home from school.

Uhhh! That guy! Spooky boo! That poor girl. I really will be looking for her update later on. That man should be institutionalized indefinately...I think he kind of is now, I hope.

Oprah too with the abuse video...that poor woman.

I'm glad they felt empowered enough to come forward.

I missed today's episode. How did it end anyways? Is she with him or not?
