    2nd nite of House Hunters

Star wore a much better dress tonite. It had an empire waist and it actually accented her figure. She has a waist and hips, who knew.

The show was also very informative. I thought all of the New York City area was incredibly expensive but it is nice to see that in the buroughs of the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island people can afford to buy homes. I liked all the prewar buildings. I didn't realize these existed. I loved the way the spaces were layed out and the period details of high ceilings crown molding and ceiling molding. Interesting to note the small and few closets and the central positioning of the shower heads and faucets in the bathrooms.

I am very glad that the 2 young professionals decided to get the $200,000 1,000 sq ft co-op. I was very surprised that they got it for $180,000 and that they didn't go over budget trying to get all that they wanted.

Reynolds tries to determine her TV future

By DAVID BAUDER, AP Television WriterTue Jul 11, 8:06 PM ET

Now that the smoke is clearing from her abrupt departure from "The View," Star Jones Reynolds is trying to see if she has a future in television.

She's appearing this week as a guest host on HGTV's top-rated show, "House Hunters," a booking made before she left "The View." Reynolds said two weeks ago she was leaving the daytime chat show because ABC wasn't renewing her contract, drawing the anger of show creator Barbara Walters when the announcement wasn't planned in advance.

ABC said it cut Reynolds loose because its research showed her extreme weight loss and highly publicized wedding turned viewers off.

"She became a headstrong diva who lost her way and lost her audience by becoming this self-involved star," said Tom O'Neil, senior editor at In Touch Weekly. "If she taps what made her successful before, she can become successful again."

In Touch Weekly reported this week that both CNN and Fox News Channel have approached Reynolds about hosting jobs.

However, Fox News spokeswoman Irena Briganti said the network had no discussions with Reynolds and has "no interest" in hiring her. CNN spokeswoman Christa Robinson said there have been no conversations with Reynolds, although she didn't rule out the possibility in the future.

Reynolds' spokesman and agent declined comment on her future job prospects.

Reynolds' recent appearance on CNN's "Larry King Live" was an eye-opening indication of the curiosity attached to the story of her exit from "The View." King's interview drew 3 million viewers, nearly triple what his show normally gets.

CNN quickly reran the interview at least twice including less than 24 hours later in direct competition with "The View."

Reynolds also had an impact on "House Hunters," according to Nielsen Media Research. Her debut Monday lifted the show's ratings 36 percent over what it had been averaging this year.

While HGTV has no immediate plans to use Reynolds again, "we wouldn't rule it out," said network spokeswoman Cindy McConkey.

Reynolds, a lawyer, began her television career in 1991 as an analyst for Court TV, quickly parlaying that into a similar role at the "Today" show. She worked as a correspondent for "Inside Edition" and had her own syndicated show, "Jones & Jury," which lasted one season.

That shouldn't be held against her, since there's a high failure rate in the syndication market, said Bill Carroll, an expert in that area for the ad-buying firm Katz Television.

Carroll said he can see Reynolds working in cable television, probably as a legal analyst.

"You can't have that kind of a profile and the awareness that she has and not have someone out there trying to take advantage of it," he said.

Before her recent problems, Reynolds appealed to many women who felt like they were misfits, O'Neil said.

At the very least, in a reality television world that can make stars of former "Brady Bunch" actor Christopher Knight and hip-hop performer Flavor Flav, there may be a role there, too. In Touch said she's being considered for celebrity judge slots on reality shows.

That's such a crock. Much like the fact that Star's wedding shows were allegedly highly rated, this week's shows are going to be highly watched because of the subject matter, not because Star is on there. NYC has been a dream for many people and I'm sure that the vast number of people watching are due to the fascination with the city.

Don't give Star THAT much credit, Mr.Writer.

I agree, House Hunters had a 36% increase in viewers Monday nite and the LKL show got 3 million people to watch Star's interview while normally Larry gets around a miilion viewers. That's one reason why CNN showed that interview so much the third time being the following morning against the View. Yeah people are interested, cause it is morbid like a car wreck, but will it last? I doubt it.

wed nite on House Hunters with Star Jones

wed nite and Star is wearing another horrible dress on House Hunters. Does that woman have no sense of style at all?? Either she is color blind, the stylist hates her or Star dresses herself either way all the results are horrible to look at.

Upper east side. I was not impressed by the co-ops basically $400,000 for a500+ sq ft 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment. All 3 needed work. But it is in Manhatten and I guess you are paying for the location. I was much more impressed with the choices on Mon and Tues nites.

Preemptive strike before someone reads the InTouch article:

    http://www.nypost.com/gossip/pagesix...s_pagesix_.htm

July 13, 2006 -- THE Fox News Channel has no interest in hiring Star Jones, recently booted from ABC's "The View," and network executives are ticked off that In Touch magazine reported they were giving Jones a job. "This is what happens when a low-rent publication like In Touch tries to break news," scoffed a Fox News flack. "It's no wonder their magazine is an industry joke."

Maybe she shares Oprah's crew. I cringe almost every time I see that woman.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck pregnancy watch is officially a go

We've been talking about it since January, and this morning on The View we finally received an update. Elisabeth Hasselbeck didn't confirm a pregnancy, but announced that she is desperate to have a second child. Daughter Grace is 15 months. She has been trying to conceive for quite a while, (she had previously said they wished to start trying for a second baby when Grace turned six months) and has begun seeing doctors to discover why she and husband Tim are having trouble conceiving again. Elisabeth also mentioned she would like at least four children - possibly even five.

I checked out the site. If you need a surrogate plus insurance and other expenses it can cost you just under $50,000 to have a baby. Then I turn on the tv and see all these woman who have been birthing babies since they were 14, and have 5 kids by 4 different fathers and we taxpayers support them. There is something very wrong about that.

Oh, don't the woman of the View have anything better to do than make all this personal info public. Next thing you know will be having an Elizabeth wee wee or poo poo watch. Enuff already. TMI.

It has gotten to the point where I'd rather watch The Tyra Banks Show, of TVLand as opposed to The (now-crappy) View. This show is soooo very boring now. We really need Rosie!
