That would be a downgrade.

I really enjoyed seeing Meryl Streep on todays show. She seems like such a nice person, not the least bit arrogant. And I love watching Sherri too. She seems like she's having so much fun just doing the show and is always so thrilled to even be able to meet celebrities like Meryl Streep.
The audience got cool gifts today too. That $700 necklace. And I want to read Carrie Fisher's book, especially after hearing her talk today. Sounds interesting.
For sure. Who would have thought that The View would even be on this long after Meredith left? To me it has been on it's last leg for ever and ever.Originally Posted by Amy Lee;3250260;
If Meredith came back (of course, she wouldn't), I would record the show every day. And from what I've heard about Lisa, ditto. And if BW left, and if EH left, and if JB left...ditto. Although it would depend on who filled their places. It couldn't get worse, could it?
I guess I was one of very, very few people who didn't really care for Meredith. I like her better in her current position, but I still watch GMA much more.
When you throw a rock into a pack of dogs, you know which one you hit by the one that yelps!
I like Meredith better in her current position at the today show because it fits her professionalism much much better than the View ever did. However if they filled the view with professional women I would be much more likely to watch it again.
I agree with you on both Meryl Streep and Sherri. Meryl Streep has always come across to me as a woman (I almost said "one of those women" but couldn't really think of any others) who you'd almost have to go to and say "Do you know that you're a movie star? Do you know that you're one of the best actors of your generation? Do you know who you are?" She just comes across as being a normal suburban wife and mother who goes off every now and then to a movie set to act for a while.Originally Posted by Lil Bit;3250294;
And with Sherri, I love the "can you believe I'm here" aspect of who she is that she brings to the show. That's something that can only last so long -- after a while, it WILL be old hat for her to meet and interview big stars. But she expresses that awe and wonder well, and it's fun to see it when she shows it.
I may be one of a few who didn't care for Lisa but I just never did. I remember her once telling about always carrying condoms in her purse and I wondered why I needed to know that. That seems like personal information that I'd just as soon not share.Originally Posted by VelvetRed;3250487;
And I agree about Meryl Streep. Doesn't she strike you as someone you could spend the day with and feel like she's just one of the girls? She puts on no airs whatsoever.
Maybe she said it to educate women (and girls) out there; actually I am 100% sure that's why she said it.Originally Posted by Muduh;3250547;
I didn't watch the show when she was on it, and I've never heard anything negative about her. I've seen her doing a documentary type show on AIDS awareness (I think), or maybe it was prostitution (or both), but she is a caring journalist. It makes me wish that I'd watched The View when she was on it.
Can anyone imagine EH doing any kind of helpful reality-based documentary or seminar on ANYthing? I can't...except that it would be a nightmare.

I agree with you about Lisa Ling. She was just too ..... stick up her hiney (can't think of a more appropriate phrase... sorry for being crude) haughty for me. Not necessarily prudish, but ... I can't explain it. I just couldn't warm up to her. But Velvet, I have liked her documentaries. She's very informative and that different environment works just fine for me because I don't have to examine/witness/subconciously approve of her personality. Heh.Originally Posted by Muduh;3250547;
I love Meryl Streep. Love her sense of humor and self-effacing style. Probably the opposite of Lisa Ling, now that I think of it.
