I really disagree with this. I finally got home and had a chance to watch the show, and I believe that Elisabeth's reaction was quite sincere, just like the rest of them. Elisabeth has shown in the past that she puts teaching values to her children ahead of her own points of view. Even more important, Elisabeth, like many other McCain supporters (including myself) is in touch enough with what happened yesterday to understand, appreciate, and celebrate the historical and monumental meaning of the occasion which transcends ideology. Last night, we witnessed HISTORY. Agreeing with Barack Obama ideologically is not required for recognizing, celebrating, and being moved by that.

I think there was SOME sincerity in her words and feelings, I just don't think she was being totally sincere. Did she do what she did this morning without any thoughts about her job, how she was coming off to the viewers or without mentally suppressing her typical over-the-top commitment to being a "Stepford Republican"? That's what I doubt.

Was their kindness in her words? I have no doubt that there was, but I don't think everything she said was 100% genuine. Five minutes of kind words doesn't make me forget about months of EH's theatrics and borderline insane behavior especially since EH may have had that goal in mind this morning.

That aside, I thought that both Sherri and Whoopi were beautifully eloquent in sharing their thoughts this morning. If I could have changed anything, it would have been removing Whoopi's voice saying "Don't do it" as Sherri was tearing up. Both of them have a gift for words, and they exhibited it today.

I am glad Whoopie kept Sherri from weeping uncontrollably. The "Don't do it" was a lifeline to Sherri to hold it together. Otherwise, it would have melted into a bawl fest. Having been in similar situations, where feelings and emotions are so raw and palpable, a calm redirection (as Whoopie did) allows clearer thought and inner strength to take over. I did not interpret it as an unkind act. And, I am glad Sherri was able to articulate her thoughts so well as a result.

I interpreted Whoopi's words the same way. She was reaching out to her like an older sister and perhaps even trying to not shed tears herself. I saw it as a sweet gesture.

I agree with those of you who have said that Whoopi's "don't do it" was a way of showing love and support to Sherri, and I don't fault her for that, just like I thought it was great that Elisabeth reached out to touch her and show her support. The reason it bothered me was that it just seemed disruptive to me once she repeated it more than once.

Well, I'm hoping that the ladies on the View will continue to watch and comment on our politics in the upcoming months and years. I like the way that there are all views and not just one side. I hope there is a little bit more respect from all sides, but I also hope there will continue to be disagreements.

There are clips out there on the internet. It really was a very sweet moment.

The repetition in Sherri's story at that time was indicative of nervousness and importance to her... the more she talked the more clarity and strength she gained in her story. I didn't feel it was worthy of irritation, but I didn't watch the full show to see if she brought it up more or not. Then it would have been a different story.

I'm glad that she is not afraid to express her emotions. A lot of people seem to be uncomfortable with showing emotions....their own, or anyone else being emotionally demonstrative.

Sometimes, you've just got to get it out, and there is nothing wrong with that as long as you are not violent.
