I loved Sherri's segment about SSW. Heck, if I had the chance to meet all those stars, I would have been screaming too, especially for Cameron!

These people walk, talk, breathe, bleed, have bills, brush their teeth just like any other mortal...and me and thee. I just don't get the point in the adulation. They are, in all likelihood, not even responsible for their physical looks. Looks, for the most part, are an accident (fortunate or unfortunate) of birth, or some surgeons. Totally ridiculous. A person I would idolize would be someone who was extremely important in my life, like a strong relative who made me know exactly how important I am.

    Re: The View

I thought Ingraham was pretty good this morning.
I'm so over Whoopi lately that when she held her hand up to try to stop Laura talking so she could make a point, I was actually pleased that Laura not only refused to yield the floor but pointed out that Whoopi does that all the time.
I found her speaking voice a little irritating, but I'd get used to it if she made more appearances on the show.
I agreed with quite a few of the things she said.
I feel for Heather Mills too because of the bad press she gets, whether she has earned it because of her bad behaviour or not.
Being from the UK, my first exposure to Heather was long before she married McCartney and I built up a very positive impression of her, which all the negative publicity hasn't been able to shift.
I also agreed about Laura's opinion on the "pornification" of America.

I'm pleased they kept the phoncecall with Elisabeth fairly brief.
I'm pleased that she and the baby are healthy, but beyond that I don't wish to see or hear from her.

I thought that things got a bit testy today with Whoopi needing to be heard. She continually squashes all just ot be heard. Seriously, calm down already. So far, we've gotten 2 hot topic days this season, i hope they make it at least a once a month thing.

Part of that may be vanity, but some of it is very likely the residual effects of the cancer treatments she underwent in the last year or so. She had to go through both radiation and chemo for her breast cancer.

    Re: The View

I really wish they'd gone with some weightier subjects for the supposed full hour of Hot Topics.
How about discussing the recent indictment of Bernard Kerik?
Wait, that would result in one minute of discussing the indictment and ten of Babs telling us how she's great friends with Guiliani's wonderful wife.
    Perhaps not then.
Barbara could have taken ten seconds to tell us Paul McCartney is dating her cousin, but of course she took forever.
The budget fashion show is another waste of time, imo.
All it showed the viewers is that the ladies can go to Hennes and for less than $100 (except not because they didn't appear to include the footwear in the cost of most of the outfits) they can dress in a pretty similar way to how they always dress. Fascinating.

I honestly can't give a concrete reason why Elisabeth bugs me more than everyone else (aside from appearing to be fairly stupid), but she does, in the same way that while Charlton Heston and Tom Selleck appear to have similar ideologies, I quite like Tom Selleck and absolutely despite Charlton Heston, and I can't begin to tell you why.

And I have to say that ideology frequently has little to do with my opinion of people - I loathe both Streisand and Michael Moore quite as much as I loathe Bush and Heston.
oh, wow, cool. I agree with you on all counts. What are the odds of that with such a varied list?!

Well, since I didn't care enough to watch could someone tell we what Elizabeth named her latest? Were the bets on "after his dad" right? Thanks!

    Taylor Thomas.
I felt they'd go for at least one of Tim's names as that does seem to be something of a theme for Elisabeth's family, but I'd have never guessed Taylor.

Thanks, fluff! Well, it's nice to have a reason to give a kid when s/he asks why you picked that name (usually when they are hating it around junior high).
