So now Elisabeth is being faulted for growing up in a two parent home? And for being able to go to college? I do not think she grew up in a wealthy home, just an average middle class one.

Who the heck said she was being "faulted"???? She's not at fault for anything, but she's had a completely different set of life circumstances than unwed mothers (and many other topics) and she is absolutely unable, or refuses, to acknowledge that.

And, however you want to change what was said, she does currently sit in a position of priviledge. And I do consider growing up in an upper middle class, two-parent home to also be QUITE a priviledge.

I would say that it gave her knowledge and experience in working as a team with all different types of people. And as a team captain, it provided her with the chance to develop her leadership skills.

What does that have to do with her ability to speak about abortion, single parenthood, or bad parenting? That's how you defended her detractors on those issues, so I don't understand your correllation. Please explain.

Why is it that Elisabeth has to be a poor single parent before she is allowed to have an opinion of that is how she does NOT want to live?
Why must she be put into the situation of an unplanned pregnancy before she is allowed to NOT want to ever have an abortion?

She is a grown adult married woman. She has traveled. She is educated. She has held several different kinds of jobs that she has gotten on her own merit. (She does not have a relative in the business.) But yet because she is a republican, she still is not good enough in some eyes.
NOW, just HOW narrow, even CLOSED minded is THAT?

I thought it was the show with Nancy Pelosi, so I tuned in the day of the abortion talk. What I heard Elizabeth say was she thought Hillary Clinton's idea to give every newborn $5000 would stop the women who were going to have abortions and they would give birth instead. In other words (mine), she thinks $5000 will cut the number of abortions in the US. At no time did I hear Whoopi be rude, she asked nicely for Elizabeth to not judge things for which she has no basis of comparison.

this is how i feel in general when certain politicians and non-black people go and pander to "black folk" and speak on issues they don't know a damn thng about. They don't get a pass either. I never heard it brought up before here though...hmm

i remember several times before some color was added to the show post-starJ.Reynolds when Rosie/Joy said statements about what "black people" want yada yada and i just had to shake my head @ the garbage they were saying
