    Re: The View

This show can't last much longer. So, I guess BW will drag it with her into retirement. That old woman has lost her interviewing skills. Heck, she's lost her conversational skills. Will she even make it into next year, doubtful. I'm embarrassed FOR her.

Sherri is still annoying with her interrupting. Love how she says sorry, then continues to rattle on.

I've watched two episodes and cannot stomach anymore. This show is AWFUL!!

Isn't it? It's become a shell of its former self. I can't get over how bad it is.

I've only watched twice since this new season began and the second time was yesterday...when Barbara moderated.
OMG! She was simply awful. I actually felt sorry for her which says a lot considering I don't like her one bit.

    Re: The View

Barbara is a terrible moderator because she can't figure out how to make the adjustment from anchoring. The two skills are quite different - one reading to a camera and sounding natural, and the other having a natural conversation while being aware of time, people talking in your ear, etc. She's so used to being stiff and reading when she's in front of a camera (which worked very well for her for years in an anchor role) that she can't figure out how to bounce from that to conversational. I recorded the show today because Dan Savage was on, and I love him. Haven't watched it yet, but I hope he was good!!!

Only a smidgen of him at the very end and, depending on your point of view, you may or not be happy with what he says. Over all, the ladies weren't....but they are also a bunch of romantics as opposed to general realists.

He is one of those people who even when I disagree with him, I like listening to him. I like that more often than not, he expreses what he thinks rather than just tearing apart other views.

I watched the interview and loved it. If I had one wish, it would have been that Whooping would have been more vocal. I loved when she said "you asked the question" after everyone was so shocked by Dan's threesome revelation. The reason I liked it so much was that it highlighted my favorite thing about Dan. He's un phased by disagreement. He embraces it, respects it, and manages to point out the common bonds. I would love to see them bring him back as a guest host and allow him to truly shine.

    Re: The View

For the most part, this show has become sadly pathetic, much like Barbara herself. When she finally overcomes her ego enough to leave the stage, either the show needs to call it quits as well, or it should be completely overhauled with a new panel. I wouldn't mind seeing Meredith Viera (or Katie Couric, as I posted previously)come back in Barbara's leadership spot, dump Jenny and Sherry and maybe Whoopi, too, unless she's able and willing to put a little more wit and energy into it. Brook Shields is doing a pretty good job on the Today show; she could be an asset to a new panel of smart and sassy co-hosts. Ali Wentworth would be great, too. Call it the New View.

I like the way you're thinking! I think Brooke is a bit dry, though....and not in a good way. I find her boring.

If what we've had lately is all we have to look forward to, let's hope it goes waaaay before BW does.
