Today is the first of two parts . . . introducing Scott Bakula as the guy who's is potentially going to head up the office in New Orleans. A guy named Special Agent Dwayne Cassius Pride. Doesn't have the same ring to it as "Leroy Jethro Gibbs" does, but it is memorable.

Yup, it sure seems like a NCIS: New Orleans spin off is in the works.

I watched and was annoyed by Scott Bakula's accent, which comes and goes. They need to either ditch it all together or nail it down.

The accent or lack of was annoying. I like the cast of the new spin off and love New Orleans.

I love Scott B. and always have, but I agree, the accent is a bit shaky. So I guess the Great Lakes woman will be staying, plus the original #2 oficer, and we have a black woman ME established. N.O. is a great city for a crime show... But I don't know how many of these shows I can put on my radar. What are they going to do, have 3 straight hours of NCIS?

    Re: Navy NCIS

CSI had two spinoffs - only the original is left.

I felt an emotional disconnect among the actors. It seemed like they were all posing waiting for the other person to acknowledge them. Kind of like the amateur dancing on DWTS where sometimes they just stop and wait for the next movement to begin.

I do like the N.O. cast, but if you remember the NCIS Los Angeles crossover introduction, there was a lot more emotional interaction and "action" involved. I couldn't wait for King to greet Abby (she is from LA) and they did know each other, but the greeting seemed forced. I keep saying "seemed" because I think the writing was sloppy and not the actors reading the lines.

I'm sure I'll enjoy the N.O. show as much as I enjoy L.A. The difference will be that N.O. will be a regular operation while L.A. is all about undercover/terrorism operations. So, the draw will be the city of New Orleans and I hope it flies.

I hope so too. They will have plenty of interesting story lines in New Orleans.

Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed reading a behind the scenes view of how they responded to the news of his passing. I plan to have plenty of tissues handy Tuesday night.
