Another thing that I think makes no sense (to me) are the prior comments about Gibbs never having taken a lie detector test. Really? There are special rules for him? I know this is a fictional show, but they are trying to base it on some reality (e.g. the real NCIS) - so that seems ridiculous.

Overall, I really like this show and it is a must see, but sometimes I think the writers get lazy and they do us (the viewing audience) a huge disservice with stories that have such sloppy plots.

Don't get me wrong - this is one of my favourite shows. I think that's what makes the sloppy writing so disappointing.

Oh, yeah, I totally understand. I really do like this show, I love the family dynamic among the group. It's that when a show is so good its pretty obvious when one part of the group, in this case the writers, do such a bad job.

Bad writers, no bonus for you this year.

Wow after all that complaining about sloppy episodes the writers redeem themselves by this weeks episode (Feb 8th 2011) with Kate's sister.

Hope next weeks ep is as good.

I was riveted, but I didn't really care for the O'Henry surprise that it was Kate's sister (after the NCIS agents acting as though they had no idea who she was), or did I miss something earlier in the episode. Seems like it would be a conflict of interest for her to be evaluating Kate's teammates given how traumatic Kate's death still was to her. And Ducky's unsolicited outpouring of angst? Not like him. So my interest was held but I didn't think it came together very realistically.

I had some of the similar questions with respect to the boundaries of interviewing the team when she's connected through her sister.

However, I loved the episode anyways!!

The part about Ducky though is that I thought it was actually very like him to act like that. He often makes comments that offer a lot of insight into who he is without always realizing it.

But he is a forensic psychologist. I think he knew exactly what he was doing, which was unloading without being asked to do so.

I do think I have to disagree. I think that was her way of asking-without-asking. She had quite the nack for that. I also think that while he may be a forensic psych, he also shares with others. He also seemingly needed to do so.
