Saturday Night Live

I was happy to see Kristin Wiig go. Although I think some of her characters were funny, the majority were just annoying.....and sometimes characters that started out funny became annoying. I like a number of the women on the show now much more than I ever liked her. For me, Amy Poehler was the biggest loss as far as female cast members to depart recently, followed by Maya Rudolph.

When they were talking last season about Wiig, Andy Samburg and Jason Sudekis leaving, I was only upset about JS leaving. I don't miss the other two at all. I'll be sad to see Sudekis go, whenever that happens, although I think Tara Killen could fit into that "everyman" spot quite nicely. He's really improved over his time on the show.

The problem with the last few seasons isn't the quality of the performers, it's their inability to write for themselves. You have to have both to succeed on this show.

You're absolutely right. I think Mike Myers wrote most of his own stuff, and so did Jimmy Fallon and Dana Carvey. They're some of my favorites. (All-time favorite was Christopher Guest.) I did like Kristen Wiig, though, and I think she also invented her own characters.

Kenan Thompson just isn't funny. I started fast-forwarding through "What's Up With That?" after about the 20th time they showed it, and that was about 20 times ago. The Will Ferrell Jeopardy skit was another one-joke skit they drove into the ground. He made up for it by being hilarious in everything else. Especially the cowbell player.

I read where Jason Sudekis is George Wendt's nephew. There is a resemblance when you see their pictures side by side.

I agree, I do not see the humor in 'What's Up With That?" and Kenan always cracks up at himself. I also don't get 'The Californian's' - but maybe it's just that I don't live in California.

Liked the Bravo skit last Saturday night.

I grew up in Southern California and I can tell you that it is not funny. At all. No one on the PLANET speaks that way....unless they've had a head injury.

Okay, I am apparently in a very small minority here. I actually like both What's Up With That and The Californians! :lol

I really miss Andy Samberg (and I was happy to see his little cameo on the Adam Levine episode), but I wasn't a big fan of Kristen Wiig. This season has been hit or miss for me so far. I thought the Catfish skit was funny (also on the Adam Levine episode). I love Weekend Update, but miss having Amy Pohler or Tina Fey as anchors. I could really do without the "dictator's friends from school" bit that they like to throw into Weekend Update. It never changes.

Dammit. Comcast's episode description showed this week's episode as a repeat of Bieber's episode (it even said "Repeat"), so I missed Christoph Waltz :mmm Not happy.

They replayed the Bieber episode at 10. It looks like they are going to start doing that often, so don't let the program guide fool you next time!

I checked the guide around 11 and had to "page forward" to get to 11:30, so I know I wasn't looking at the 10pm repeat. Annoying. Stupid Comcast.

I fell asleep on Christoph Waltz ... not literally, of course. :) Somewhere in the middle of the show.

I thought the Weekend Update was hilarious last night... I pretty much DVR it just for that.
