I have to say that we just happened upon last week's episode, and we were pleasantly surprised. Don't know if it's at "must see" status yet, but if we remember it's on, we'll probably make a point to watch it.

it's definitely at must see status for me. i love it. and i loved john ritter so much that it's nice to see his resemblance in his son's face. i love all the characters and think it has really smart dialogue. i have to say, amber tamblyn has come a long way since her stint as emily on general hospital. she's perfect for the part. can't wait till friday!!

Good episode! So, Kevin might actually walk again. The psychic was right about Joan having a special connection. I'm not sure though...she was wrong about a lot of stuff. I like how Joan told off those annoying girls. Joan should get a boyfriend soon.

I think she'll hook up with the guy in AP Chem... I don't know.

Do you think it was him who told everyone about Joan thinking the wrestler guy was hot? (he wasn't all that BTW). If so, why would he have done that?

Is the chess thing over? Will she represent the school?

There was a lot going on here while ti was on, and even though we rewound a couple times I might have missed answers to those questions... Sorry

I was kind of hoping the psychic would have been a little more "on". Oh well.

yepper Cali, she bowed out of the chess thing. I guess they finally got it that she doesn't know how to play the game. I love this show. Now I wish that I had gottent to see the premier(bad storm, lost power 4 hours). The girl that plays Joan reminds me of a young Valleri Bertinelli.

At first, I thought that guy Dax was the form of the "hot guy" that God used to communicate with Joan. Stupid, I know. But, I forgot about that other guy in AP Chemistry. He probably said something.

Mike, I thought the same thing, but kept telling myself God really wouldn't give himself an "earthly girlfriend" would he

So why did she have to learn to play chess then? All she did was humiliate the "best" player, and talk with God some more in the basement.

I don't think she actually quit the chess club, so maybe eventually she will learn something else. And there was the whole "play your own game" speech that came with it.

I wanted to know - did she actually get that job at the bookstore? They never show it so maybe she never went back after the first night.

So far, it seems like God wants Joan to be a nerd. (Sorry chess club people!)

i think god just wants joan to do things for the right reasons. he's putting her on a path where she can make her own decisions and think without being persuaded to be what everyone else wants her to be. but that's just my take on it.

i absolutely love love love this show. which terrifies me to some extent, b/c whenever i love a show and look forward to it, it invariably gets cancelled prematurely.

i think the parts are perfectly cast as well. i'm just enjoying the hell out of it.

ili, i'll look to see if i still have the premier on tape. if so, i'll mail it to ya.

Yeah, that's what I think too, Sher. Having her join the chess club was for her own benefit. She was going along with with her 2 snotty friends just to fit in. But with Joan beating the chess club champion without even knowing the game, taught her the lesson of "play your own game".

I don't think the psychic's only reason to be there was to find the missing child. I think she was sent to give Joan and her brother hope for the future.

This is an awesome show. It's cute, fresh, with a great story and everyday lessons to be learned. Not as heavy-handed on the religious aspect as "Touched By Angel" (which was also a good show) was. I really recommend it to everyone.
