I haven't noticed that about his eyes. I'll have to look more closely.

I always think Steve Burton... as Dylan... comes across so flat, monotone, deadpan. I didn't feel this way about him on GH so I'm thinking the character must not be written well or he's getting crap direction.

He has bored me from day one, and yes, he is flat . I wish HE was leaving -

As a long time GH and Y&R viewer I believe SB has been "flat, monotone, deadpan" on BOTH shows. As far as I'm concerned his Dylan personality is only one or two notches peppier than Jason Morgan's robotlike affect.

Tinderbox, you could be right. I wasn't a regular GH viewer so I only caught him on occasion. I don't recall him bothering me... but since I watch Y&R rather regularly (sad, I used to never miss an episode... oh how things change) I seem to fee like I notice it more. Perhaps it IS Steve Burton!

Well, I'm not necessarily placing the blame on Steve Burton. I really like him!

His character on GH had a brain injury (20 or so years ago) so it was a difficult for him (the character) to express emotion, in general. I'm sure SB fell into a rut playing Jason Morgan after so many years.

Dylan is supposed to be affected by his recent time in the war so that is why this character is a bit sullen. I'd love for the writers to lighten his mood, grown out his hair, take him out of leather jackets (so much like Jason Morgan on GH) and show us another side to Dylan McEvoy. When he was paired with Chelsea we would occasionally see him smile and have fun but I don't see a lot of that happening again when he meets up with his weirdo father.

Oh, and I agree with you about Y&R. The writing and production of the show certainly isn't what it used to be and I don't care about many of the newbies who are being shoved down our throats....at all.

Is it just me, or does Adam seem like he is going in the suicide direction? Upthread, I thought somebody said that his role was going to be recast, so I'm confused.

I agree... that's the feeling I get however interviews with the powers that be say he will be recast. Either they are throwing up a hell of a smokescreen to catch us off guard or it will be one of these things where we think he killed himself but then he shows up 6 months later.
