| Re: Young and the Restless Awesome synopsis, MamaC.  ACF, if you can remember far back enough, the same actor is playing Philip Chancellor. I don't know how they manage to dig up these people after decades go by.  I really wish they would do something to spruce Nina up a bit. They're dressing her like a 60-year-old in clothes from the Walmart discount rack and her hair...yeeesh.  I know she's not a size 2 but neither is Jill or Nikki, and they have some decent rags. Even though Jill is back to being a manicurist. That part is killing me. I also happen to love Jill's new hair - I don't like that style of bob on everyone but the cut and colour makes her look years younger.

When she first came to GC, she had on those "mom" jeans everyone takes about  at the Memorial Day BBQ that Kay had.....everyone else had on bathing suits and shorts. | Re: Young and the Restless Maybe that's because the actress playing Mac is not really into trying to play a straight role. That's got to be hard. I don't think that I could go too far pretending to be gay.  The role just really doesn't fit her.

| Re: Young and the Restless I have to disagree. If you're an actor/actress, you should be able to act. It should be the same as any other role for her. Gay, straight, whatever....if her role is a girl that's head over heels in love, it shouldn't matter whether or not a man or woman is the object of her affection.

"Should be" are the operative terms. We've got the guy who plays Adam wanting to leave because he refuses to kiss another male actor who is playing a gay character (actually, we don't know if he's gay in his real life, or not). It just doesn't always work...and he is a good actor.

| Re: Young and the Restless Well, hope everyone had a good look at the old Adam today...the new Adam has made his appearance on the Canadian broadcast. So far I'm really not impressed.  He seems very wooden and he's not as good-looking. Definitely more evil, he won't be as sympathetic as the original. (Well, the original was sympathetic to me - I know shay must be gagging while reading that. )I guess they really didn't want to drop the old actor - [[The previews for our Thursday show have Adam hitting on Rafe. The stories about the old actor quitting over the gay scenes are obviously true, but it seems they kept him right up until that plotline was incorporated.]]
