I love Bob Barker!!

I alway love watching The Price is Right for 28 years since 1978. I admired his work in radio, television, and especially having your pets spayed or neutered.
One day you may hear these words from AMC.

In my own words to KIDS IN AMERICA:

Help control to stop the school violence, have your children stay out of trouble, and stay in school.

Have they named a replacement for Bob Barker?
(And I hope it's not George Hamilton!) Yuck!
I can't even think of anyone who I would like to see as host?


I vaguely remember a 1/2 hour evening version several years ago.
It had a different host and didn't last very long.

George Hamilton comes across as smarmy, greasy and too Hollywood. I ditto the Yuck!

Well this isn't any better Maybe John O'Hurley. I don't know who Mike Richards is. No to Mario Lopez and Mark Steines.

Break out the high-test bronzer, George Hamilton, because you've got new competition. On the heels of talk that Hamilton had the inside line on succeeding Bob Barker as host of The Price Is Right comes reportage that Entertainment Tonight cohost Mark Steines and Saved by the Bell's Mario Lopez are now in the mix. Audition tapes of all the top contenders — including John O'Hurley (what's with all the Dancing with the Stars dropouts?) and former Beauty and the Geek host Mike Richards — are being shown to test audiences around the country. The wannabe who comes closest to meeting expectations without going over wins.

As much as I love The Price is Right, I kind of think they shouldn't replace him. I think it would be a more fitting tribute to Bob if CBS were to just say that Bob Barker IS The Price is Right, and they'll stop production of the show.

I'd heard that Bob Barker was retiring from the show, and it never occurred to me that TPTB would do anything except thank him effusively and find another helmsman (or helmswoman) to steer that cash cow into the future.

Then a friend told me a month or so back the show ends with Barker's departure.

Looks like perhaps she spoke too soon or something has changed if they're interviewing for hosts.

Note to headhunters: Count me out as even a sporadic viewer if you choose George Hamilton.

I'd gotten the impression Barker owned the show, shows how superficial my awareness is. If he DID own it, I wonder if he'd prefer the continuing cash flow or to bring production to a halt.

I can't help watching The Price is Right without thinking only 15 or 20 percent of the winners actually go home with what they won. Considering the amount of 'winnings' on a daily basis, they must have an IRS office on the set I'd think, ensuring Unkle gets his before winners do something stupid like acting as if the won an asset instead of the immediate liability they actually did.

I was trying to think of someone who would be a "decent" replacement.
It's tough!!

I thought about Jeff Probst, Ryan Seacrest, Regis Philbin, Ellen DeGeneres.
It is going to be hard seeing someone else as the host of TPIR.
BIG shoes to fill.

Anybody else have ideas?

Mark Steines? (he's too busy with the Anna Nicole stuff!)
John O'Hurley? not a bad choice
George Hamilton? can't really decide on that one

Whoever its going to be is going to have some big shoes to fill...........
