    Favorite Obscure TV Show?

Okay, this is my first attempt at starting a discussion thread here, so please be gentle!

What is your favorite obscure TV show?

What I mean by "obscure" is a show that you enjoyed, yet it didn't last more than a season or so, but you think that it should have.

    I throw out two:

    1) When Things Were Rotten - a mid-70's comedy written by Mel Brooks that was a parody on Robin Hood. The theme song was great:

"They laughed, they loved, they fought, they drank, they JUMPED a lot of FENCES... stole from the rich, gave to the poor -- except what they kept for EXPENSES!"

    2) Sports Night - I thought the dialog was great, and very fast moving. It got good reviews, but clearly Sorkin's mind was staying with his other hit show, which was his favorite baby and political propaganda platform.
"George Oscar Bluth II, aka GOB, featured magician in the best selling videotape, "Girls With Low Self Esteem" invites you to enter his world.

Thieves was the best short-lived series I've seen in a long time.

ABC killed it last year, after 7 episodes. I'm sure they had something that sucked REALLY bad in the wings, knowing ABC.

I really liked My So Called Life. I do not remember how long it ran, but it seemed like a blink. I just reall liked that they dealt with real life stuff.

What the heck is this?!? Get outta here, Bill!

    JUST KIDDING! Great topic.

My all-time favorite less-than-a-season show was "Police Squad! (in color)". We deserved many, many seasons of that hilarious show!

I second My So Called Life. Great show.

I also liked Freaks and Geeks.

Police Squad was a classic. I understood that the reason it did not make it was due to the 'higher level' thinking required for some of the humor. It was too intelligent for mainstream USA.

My favorite all time first season cancelled show was 'Cop Rock'. I just loved the format and the singing was great.

Yup. My first exposure to that phenomenon as a kid. I was heartbroken. I loved how they all stood around at the end as if they were freeze-framed. We got a few Naked Gun movies, but I preferred the TV show. It was the perfect parody of a hard-boiled cop show and lent itself well to the half-hour episodic format.
