HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - CBS has canceled rookie comedy "Bram and Alice" after four episodes.
The show, which starred Alfred Molina and Traylor Howard as recently reunited father and daughter, bowed on Oct. 4 with a so-so 10.9 million viewers; by this past Sunday, it was down to 7.3 million viewers.
Its overall average of 9.1 million viewers was down 26% from what the short-lived "The Education of Max Bickford" was averaging in the 8:30 p.m. half-hour a year ago.
CBS plans to fill the series' slots with sitcom repeats and NFL overruns during the November sweeps. Should CBS stick to its 8-9 p.m. Sunday comedy strategy, it has a Nathan Lane starrer that could slide into the slot.
Other series yanked this fall include Fox's "Girls Club" and ABC's "That Was Then" and "Push, Nevada."
