I dunno. This was one of my mom's favorite movies so I remember watching it with her more than once in my youth and I could've sworn it was indeed a rat. It left quite the impression on me. I could be wrong but I could've sworn it was a rat.

Personally I find these humane mouse traps rather ineffective. Better to lay down some glue and when you hear the critter scream you take a shovel to his head.

Per Wikipedia: "Jane begins denying Blanche food, killing her pet parakeet and serving it to her on a platter."

Whoops, I just noticed momrek06 already quoted this, along with the rest of the movie's plot.

You certainly aren't the only one....I would've sworn it was a rat as well! Funny how we remember things.

Re: Feud: Bette & Joan on FX

So the film was released in 1962.....back then unlike NOW.....I think it was yearssssss before the movie was actually on TV. When I did finally see it I was at home. Late at night.

So say I saw it in 1972. I was 18yo. (psst, Kar is very old now)

This movie totally FREAKED me the hell out BUT I could not look away.

So Jane brings (wheelchair bound) Blanche her dinner. When Blanche took the cover off that tray .... I GASPED out loud.

From that DAY FORWARD .... I have ALWAYS had a DISDAIN for BIRDS .... yup, can you believe THIS movie caused me to be afraid and fear ALL BIRDS.

    Nope. A Bird.

I liked Feud a lot but not quite as much as I thought I would and I can't put my finger on why. I think it was a bit slow. Maybe that's it. I also kept picturing the real actresses throughout. I should probably just let that go and enjoy what's right in front of my face. Hmm....

I've seen the Baby Jane movie a number of times and it always disturbs me. Not the best horror film of all time but the entire night time scene, with the male piano teacher and Jane, was creepy and sticks out in my mind. So was her make up. Yikes! I also remember being totally shocked that Baby Jane was the person hit by the car while trying to open the gate and NOT Blanche. I never saw that coming.
