I don't think she's funny and never have. Her schtick is cursing, her weight (which isn't funny) and, as is becoming more and more publicized, stealing other comedians' jokes. Do a google search about it and you find videos of other comics doing bits and then Amy doing them after that.

I fell asleep watching Trainwreck three times. Three strikes and you're out.
I kind of like some of what I have seen of her comedy act (I think it has been mainly her earlier work), but I turned off Trainwreck. Did not like it at all.

Really though, regardless of whether any of us (or any other Netflix users) think she's funny or not, it sucks that one person can lead to a change in the system that affects all of us. I actually used the ratings system to determine if I wanted to watch something. I read the reviews too. Any time I ignored the stars and watched a low-rated movie, I generally ended up regretting it. Now I go to imdb to check out the user ratings there before I watch.

There are other ways Netflix could have handled the problem. They could have just turned off reviews/ratings for that one title, much the way YouTube disables comments for certain videos or other sites just close the comments section on specific articles. Why did they have to change the entire site over one comedy special?

While there's an article written pointing to Amy Schumer as the reason, isn't it possible it was for more than that? Perhaps they saw a lot of "robo rating" from trolls? Saw that their ratings were not lining up with sites such as Rotten Tomatoes and concluded that their methodology was not getting reliable results? Or, they got complaints from multiple studios? Amy Schumer is no double a ruthless self promoter, but I'm not sure she's powerful enough to single handedly change Netflix.

Did anyone see the finale of "The Fall" on Netflix? It was a great ending.

Haven't heard about that one. What is it about?

"The Fall" is a 3-season series based on the exploits of a serial killer (played by Jamie Dornan of 50 Shades fame) and Gillian Anderson as the police detective. It is set in present day Ireland. It is suspenseful and has great acting.

I loved the fall, until this last season, and I was so bored..

I have not watched it yet, but it is on my list. Teh book was on my list to read, and I think I"ve decided I'll just watch the series instead. I have a feeling it'll be one I want to discuss, so I'll try to get to it soon!
