I'm irked that I have to agree with the judges, but I do. There is too much...just too much, really. They need to cut out some of the frills and just play the song, because they are a hell of a band.
Also, much as I don't care for Rzeznik, I'm with him on that annoying booing. What the hell is wrong with those people?
All I wanted was a 45, a stinking 45 - the record or the gun. I'd even settle for the damn malt liquor. - Al Bundy.
Franklin Bridge...these guys are really talented musicians, but for me that original song never got out of neutral, I didn't get it. And for the second week in a row they have taken a great song by a great artist & made it almost unrecognizable. I reckon they'll stick around, but I can see them wearing thin pretty quickly.
I think they've got an audience full of tweens who were raised during the self esteem movement. Any criticism is BAD and will RUIN their lives.
I guess I'm from a school that likes that stuff... at least with R&B/Soul songs. I think it's the Church band/gospel influence these bands get. There's a tradition of jamming that leads to big instrumentals, and so I expect it from bands with that background.Originally Posted by Rattus;2644723;
With straight rock... yeah, I'd like it a lot less.
Fifi LaRue?
Barf.
And now... The Clark Brothers.
I said it before... they are chewing up all of the best acts on the front end. Do I even WANT to watch the 2nd hour of this now? I ain't sure.

Okay, The Clark Brothers are excellent players, but I found their original song to be a tad, well, cheesy, I guess. Like a country song written for a Matlock episode. And the Elton song? Well, the dullness of it would go some to explain why I've either never heard it before, or have heard it and totally forgotten it.

Yeah. Sixwire beats the Clarks this week. Last week they were far more neck and neck.
Geez. Do I even WANT to see half of the bands that are left?
EDIT - Oh lord. Light Of Infants made it through. I may be sick.

Thumbs down for the Clark Brothers, too. The only one I like so far is Sixwire.
The Clark Brothers are recording ready right now. That original was great, I can see that one being on the radio now, & finally someone did Elton like Elton needed to be done.
