"Bet Your Life" - This made-for-television film from executive producer Joel Silver stars the male and female winners of the "Next Action Star" reality series on NBC. Louis Morneau ("Bats") directs from a teleplay by Jeff Welch. Alan Schechter is the producer. In this fast-paced edge of your seat action film, Sonny Briggs (male "Next Action Star" winner), a former pro quarterback and current Vegas limo driver with a gambling jones is framed for murder by a psychopathic, harmonica-playing high-stakes gambler, Joseph (Billy Zane, "Titanic"). Joseph bets Sonny $2.4 million that he can't stay alive for 24 hours while Joseph tracks him and hunts him down for sport. With the clock ticking, Sonny heads for Cleveland - but what he doesn't know is that Joseph has already rigged the game, planting tracking devices on him. While Sonny runs for his life, he discovers Joseph isn't the only one pursuing him. Carmen Rawlins (female Next Action Star winner) - a relentless bounty hunter who works for a loan shark whom Sonny is late repaying - stays right on his tail. A few helicopter chases, explosions and a deadly game of dodge the flame-thrower later, Sonny decides to cut Carmen in for half the action if she will help him - and then he quickly double-crosses her. With less than eight hours to go, Sonny goes one on one with Joseph and takes a high dive with Carmen. Sonny's chances of cashing in are looking good - that is, until he realizes that the final "rule" of the game is that he has to be back at the Tower Casino in Vegas before midnight in order to collect his prize. The two contest runners-up make cameo appearances as well.

Made-for-tv movie? I guess I'm a complete idiot for even thinking this would get on some random movie screens.

I won't even comment on the storyline.

I can see Sean and Corrine playing the parts for this movie. I just hope Jared is not the runner-up, because I don't want to see his prima-donna mug on the screen again. The story sounds too busy, and it's a lot on the cheesy side. Wonder how much they had to pay to have Billy Zane to play the villain ?

The movie sounds like a dud, but I'm still going to tape it. Have to show a little support for the winners.

Hmmm, character's names begin with "S" and "C"? Sean & Corinne begin with "S" and "C"?

Joel Silver must be blackmailing Billy Zane, that's the only reason I can think of for him to do it.

Anyway, it sounds like utter dreck, but I'll probably watch it. At least it's FREE! (ETA: on second thought, I might lose a little piece of my soul watching this.
