LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- NBC is trimming its "Next Action Star" by one week, as the network plans to drop the show's penultimate episode ("Road Kill or Be Killed") in favor of wrapping the series on Wednesday, July 28 at 8:00/7:00c ("Score to Settle").

It's not clear how the show will address events from the skipped episode.

In addition, the Peacock has bumped up the premiere of "Bet Your Life" (previously titled "Hit Me"), the telefilm which stars the winners of "Next Action Star," by one week. The two-hour original will now air Wednesday, August 4 at 8:00/7:00c.

Thank God. Although I'm bored to tears, the main reason why I'm not all that bothered is because I'm ELATED that I won't have to hear the "WHAAA WHAAAA! at the beginning of every commercial break anymore. :yay :yay

They'll probably do some double-showdown thriller, or cut the second-to-last episode in half and tack it on somewhere. I just really, really, reallllyy want to see the look on Jared and Melisande's faces when they go. Please, you can't take that away from me...

Thank goodness for that. This torture can't end fast enough.

I don't like that WAH X 2 either. It's definitley not a sound for an action star. You think they could've come up with something better.

My guess is Ralphie May laughing at how bad this show is. (If you saw last year's Last Comic Standing, you'd remember his annoying laugh.

It's too bad, I like the general concept of this show - just needed better casting and less focus on the antics in the house.

This show had a great concept but was a little misleading. What happened to the "action?" Everytime I tune in all I see is drama or someone fake sobbing. Joel Silver needs to step up the action.

To me it sounds like a very large cat winding up to yark a major hairball on the carpet (NEVER the tile). The sound actually makes me feel sick to my
stomach--my finger flies to the "mute" button automatically.

Yeah it totally wasn't what I thought it would be, yet I am sucked in and half to watch.
