| Jamey Garner - Finalist for Nashville Star Jamey's website is at http://www.jameygarner.com Here is a photo and bio from his web site: Jamey Garner is no stranger to country music. Growing up, it was country radio in the car, re-runs of Hee Haw on the television and Kenny Rogers records on his parents’ stereo in the living room! “My folks are country music fans and I guess you could say it rubbed off on me.” Jamey’s roots are tucked in the heart of a little river town in Southern Illinois, called Chester. It was there that he began singing and playing the harmonica at a very young age. Performing locally and at area events soon led to bigger venues. By the time he was twenty, Jamey was traveling the heartland performing for thousands and doing about one hundred dates a year. “It was clear early on that I wanted to be an entertainer. I loved it then and I love it even more today”, says Jamey. He has shared stages with country music superstars Jessica Andrews, Blackhawk, T. Graham Brown and Bryan White and recorded for Grammy Award winner Harry Connick, Jr. In 2002, Jamey’s band, The Ranchhands, “Garnered” a ton of press and airplay here America and on the International scene. Senior staff writer George Peden of CountryReview.com named The Ranchhands one of the top ten country releases of 2002, along with such major label artists as Alan Jackson, The Dixie Chicks and Alison Krauss & Union Station. Country Standard Time magazine agreed, calling The Ranchhands one of the top Indy releases of 2002! Abroad, radio DJ’s have been impressed with Jamey’s vocals and his songwriting with co-writer/collaborator Chris Tedesco. Together Jamey and Chris released two singles from their Ranchhands CD that spent a collective 16 weeks in the top 10 on the Independent Country Music Charts. Most recently, Jamey and nine other artists were selected from 8,000 unsigned country music singers to relocate to Nashville, TN for the USA Network and SONY-Nashville’s nationwide grassroots search for the next Nashville Star. Under the tutelage of country legend Clint Black, these ten country singers will compete for the title of "Nashville Star" and a record deal with SONY-Nashville. ![]() | |

| Another competitior who has been making a career out of music for a while. Seems as though he's taken what he likes from his favourite performers and used it to help him craft his own style.

| Not sure I'm liking the "new look", though. I much prefer the top picture. | |

| The top picture is a tad "Billy Ray" for my liking, does look the part though.

| Jamey is polished, both in his looks and his performance. I'm sure a lot of 30-something women will go ga-ga for him. I didn't think he came off as very sincere or genuine though. He probably got one of his New York designer friends to cut out the holes in his jeans and throw some Southwest flavor into his New York apartment. If he wins, he'll be able to afford to hire a speech coach to improve his Southern accent. I say this now because we didn't get a chance to see too much of him. Who knows. By the end of the show next week I may be under his spell. ![]()

| Hm. I don't know if his microphone malfunctioned or what, but his voice seemed really ordinary, almost quiet. Loved the harmonica and stuff, but the voice and all the boot-kicking didn't grab me.
