I like a lot of the ones mentioned leann, kenny, big and rich, gretchen, etc... I'm looking forward to seeing who of them ends up hosting NS this year. I never get to see them on tv or anything so it should be cool.

I like Country music a lot, but I prefer the old beer drinking style. Most of these younger artists are not what I consider real country.

I remember one night back in 1964 when my husband and I were driving to Nashville from Memphis and there was a program with Dolly Parton and Porter Waggoner. I liked her a lot, but didn't care much for him. Forty odd years later, I still feel the same.

I've listened to country for so long that I well remember Carl Smith, George Morgan, Patsy Cline and many, many others. Oh yes, Skeeter Davis was good too.

I like Patty Loveless and I especially enjoyed her more traditional country album Mountain Soul. The song about Kentucky miners "You'll Never Leave harlan Alive" always gives me shivers.

I have to say, I am a country music fan, but I still love other music just as equally.

Traditional Country Musicians:
Dolly Parton take the top spot for me in anything, i guess it is that I just grew up with her

Johnny Cash (and June)
Loretta Lynn
The Willie (he is all my Dad listens to)
Kris Kristofferson
Emmylou Harris
Kevin Sharpe
John Michael Montgomery
Reba and Garth and Trisha (can I use just first names)

More Recent Musicians:
Keith Urban
Tim McGraw
Blaine Larsen
Faith, as always
JoDee Messina
Brad Paisley
Sugarland
Clay Walker
Brooks and Dunn
Dierks Bentley
Carrie Underwood
Josh Turner

That all for now, sorry for the long list.

I forgot to add Ian Tyson and (from the way back cowboy singer days) Sons Of The Pioneers. And of course Hank Williams (the one who doesn't need any modifier after his name).
