"Nashville Star" regional competitions announced

Regional competition locations announced!

The following five cities are currently scheduled to host Nashville Star regional competitons:

Los Angeles - January 4
Houston - January 6
Kansas City - January 8
Baltimore - January 10
Nashville - January 12

Please note that all dates are tentative, and that venues and times are yet to be announced.

At this point, all local competitions are completed, and the winners of each of the local competitions moves on to the regionals. If I count correctly, there are approximately 40 people moving on to this stage. So, each of these people has a pretty good shot.

According to the rules of elimination, the regional competitions will narrow the field to approximately 10 (I assume this will be 10 plus any extras in case background investigations prove problematic). Those 10 will appear on the televised show.

By the way, in case you think this is like AI, note that each contestant may play an instrument, and has to perform both a cover song and an original song at each stage of competition.

Original songs and cover songs must be different for each round. Just to make it to the regional competition level, contenders have already gone through 4 rounds of elimination.
