Nanny Deb

Armed with the dos and don’ts of child-rearing, über-nanny Deb prepares to crack the whip on everything from appalling table manners to raging temper tantrums on NANNY 911 premiering Wednesday, Nov. 3 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Hopefully that's a costume for the publicity shot, not her everyday getup.

I think it is supposed to evoke memories of Mary Poppins, but I do find it rather, um, scary. Maybe that's part of the attention getting strategy to get the kids to fall in line.

I'm sure that Mary Poppins is the look they were going for, but it reminds me of an English bobby with an equally fearsome bobby stick mimicking an umbrella! The only thing missing is the whistle. Spoonful of sugar, indeed.

I like Deb. She was very patient with the Mom from the first episode who just wasn't getting that it was her behavior that encouraged her kids to be such brats. The kids actually looked like they liked Deb at the end of the show, and Dylan was so proud of sleeping in his room by himself when he told Deb about it.

I think she looks like a dominatrix with no sense of humour. Wouldn't want her in my house while I was asleep.
