Nanny 911 coming to FOX on 11/03

THEY'RE OUT TO TAME THE TERRIBLE TWOS … AND THREES, FOURS, FIVES AND SIXES … "NANNY 911" LAYS DOWN THE LAW WEDNESDAY, NOV. 3, ON FOX

When your kids are full of trouble, help is there on the double. The British are coming this November on NANNY 911. This new, family-oriented, unscripted series follows an experienced Head Nanny and her team of "specialist" nannies, who know that it takes more than a spoonful of sugar to get unruly tykes in line. Catch the wonder-nannies in action on NANNY 911 beginning Wednesday, Nov. 3 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Armed with the dos and don'ts of child-rearing and possibly an umbrella or two, the English über-nannies aren't afraid to crack the whip on everything from appalling table manners to raging temper tantrums. The nannies will help exhausted parents tackle the chaos in their home and work their incredible "Mary Poppins"-like magic to transform the terrible tots.

All it takes is a call to Nanny Central, where Head Nanny Lilian, accompanied by her butler Fraser, reviews the case and assigns the nanny best suited for the challenge at hand. Meet the NANNY 911 team:

o Head Nanny Lilian - Lilian, the charming and impeccably mannered grandmother of everyone's dreams, has been nanny to the British upper crust for over 25 years.

o Nanny Deb - A 20-year veteran of the nanny wars, Deb is creative and energetic, and relies on her sense of humor to deal with difficult situations. Deb's motto is "'I want,' doesn't get."

o Nanny Stella - The outspoken nanny of the group, Stella takes a no-nonsense approach to kid crises. Stella believes children need lots of love - and lots of structure.

o Nanny Yvonne - A firm believer in respect, Yvonne treats kids the way she would like to be treated, and she'll do whatever it takes to keep her charges safe.

NANNY 911 is produced by Granada Entertainment. Paul Jackson and Bruce Toms serve as executive producers. Michael Shevloff and Gerry McKean are co-executive producers.

I can hardly wait to see this one!

Thanks John for keeping us posted on this one. I posted in the other thread about knowing of a family who was filming for this and apparently it turns out they are in the premiere eppy!

Holy smokes... I haven't seen the teasers but have heard about them and OMG, I really am not sure whether or not I would ever consider having such family dysfunction, etc. on national TV for fame or fortune... I know that some of these shows people wonder where the hell do they find these folk? Jerry Springer rejects is my guess for many of them. I suppose that many of them do make the viewers feel much better about themselves. I have to wonder (a lot!) about the editing of these shows and the long term impact it will have on the ones who are edited to come off so poorly on national TV?

I am really interested in seeing how the premiere young family comes out as far as editing and definitely will be looking to find out if they really had improvement from it all... and I'm not just talking the trips, cash, etc.(which some production companies seem to feel will heal everything), but real help as far as the family structure. I do fell the need to add that this particular production company was extremely professional and did their jobs well. As far as the editing stuff, I am sure it is what that NETWORK tells them to do. All in all, I guess a job/career is just that and you do what it necessary to get it done.

By the way, this show was not without tragedy and I'm curious to see if it will be mentioned in the editing, but the family dog managed to find its way out to the street during filming and fell victim to car vs. beloved family pet. I am sure you can imagine the trauma of having this happen at anytime. I would have pulled the plug at that point!!!! But as I understand, filming did continue and now the show amazingly will be aired approximately one month from final episode wrap up.

I still love all that is reality, but definitely have to sit and scratch my head when it is done for temporary fame, cash and prizes. :rolleyes

I get so sick of seeing how some kids seem to get away with anything and parents actually think they are doing them a favor. This could be the best thing that happens to these kids!

I have to admit that the commercials caught my attention.

Can you imagine if you lived next door to a family like that? With all the screaming, it is amazing that anyone on the block gets any sleep.

good point, mimby. I would hate living next door to that noise too. And what if they have a sandbox outside or something and they wail and screech like that all summer long when you've got your windows open. yikes.

It will be easy to tell if the magic will actually transform the family by watching to see if the parents get schooled too. The parents are the cause of the problems, sure the kids may need to be straightened out but the parents need to be taught how to be effective parents.

It's like obedience school for dogs. It's only really effective if the owners attend with the dogs because they (the owners) are the ones that need the most training.

I can't hardly wait for the show tonight. Hope my expectations aren't too high! From what I gather, Nanny Deb will be featured tonight. The one whose mantra is "I want doesn't get." I may have to wear earplugs with the screamer, though.
